I'm hoping for rather than expecting a good win today. We never seem to do well when expecting. 3 points today sets us up nicely for Tuesday. So 2:1 to the mighty yellows, scrappy game but we just scrape over the line. They will try and frustrate the hell out of us. COYY

Big game in a way, after comfy wins against poor opposition the step up in level has bought only two points. Of the next three games this is the easiest, anything other than a win will be worrying.

Confident of 3 points today. 3-0 Oxford, Obika with 2 and Gino with the other.

Didn't there last manager (Edinburgh) get sacked after we beat them at their place, hopefully we can get Pennock sacked tomorrow. Booooo... I bet you laugh when you see old people fall over as well 😊

I hate it when on paper we should win, because on grass it's a different matter. On grass the game always looks a bit different.

I'm jumping on the positive bus with this one.
Everything clicks and leads to a goal rush - 5:0 win with goals from Obika, Mowatt, Henry, Rothwell and an og. 1:0 at halftime..

First home game of the season going to, so I'm expecting a solid 0-0.
Looking forward to some minutes on the pitch from some of the new lads, think made some great signings at the end of the window.

The transfer deadline players will have had a good solid weeks training, so I'd think we'll see some changes today. I'm interested to see how Mowatt and Mousinho can be shoe horned into the team and who makes way, if they do.
Every game is challenge, but if we get Payne in the game early and control the midfield, I can see a decent win.

Probably 1-0 or 2-0 to us. Defence might have a wobble on...Mousinho will play, will there be problems getting to know Nelson. Etc. etc.

Oh what an evil plan (borrowed from Amersham Dave)

Afternoon folks. Shame that Williamson is out, but rabbits will be rabbits.
Despite that we're going to win 4-1 today
COME ON YOU YELLOWS

Strong team, happy to see Rothwell having a run, but surprised to see Henry?

Pleased with that team, especially with rothwell starting in CM. Our options off the bench are pretty impressive now - Mowatt, Thomas and GvK all available should we need them. Tasty.
3-1 Yellows - Payne, Hall, Mousinho

With 11 men sitting deep we might need some 35 yard screamers!

Loadsa goals in this one, we'll start a little uncertain and Gills take a 2 goal lead, only for the U's to storm back in torrential rain and score three in reply, but the mood in Grenoble rd turns as dark as the sky when a blunder in the home defence sees Gills equalise, then, we get our game and selves back together scoring two goals in quick succession -including a penalty!! U's Five Gills 3.

Not too worried about Riberio injury, obviously hope it's not serious but gives Carroll some game time + can't Mousinho play there too?
