Leeds fan at work....'He's a great player. Will do really well in L1' ..... Someone always says that, plenty of players who were supposed to shine for us because of the drop in level haven't. A lot of prem/champ clubs fans think we play the equivalent of Sunday league.

I'd just like to make a public apology to Darryl Eales, Pep Clotet and all involved in OUFC's recruitment dept. I said yesterday that I felt a bit flat with the business done on deadline day but having done a bit of further investigation on our new recruits I have to say I'm impressed.
I reckon we'll be a lot more robust and hard to beat under Pep, anyone who saw our 'rabbits in the headlights' performance at Wembley will agree its what was needed. I'm not knocking what Mapp did for us for one second, he over saw some of the best performances and achievements I as a supporter have had the pleasure to witness but we did have a bit of a soft underbelly at times.
We'd all like to see the cash splashed, especially after a player is sold for a big fee but sometimes that isn't possible or feasible
We've got a good solid squad with good players who want to wear the yellow shirt. That's good enough for me

I am slightly concerned how one of the biggest prospects in the Championship has now failed a 2 clubs in a short space of time having made it BIG in the first place.
Let's hope we have not got another Dan Crowley! If he screws this move up then I'm not sure where that leaves him.....but he definitely has the pedigree. Then again so did Crowley!
I'm not being negative, just a bit cautious.

Mowatt got sent off on his Barnsley debut which was against Leeds so never had the best start there.

Good piece on Alex Mowatt in today's Football League Paper.
There is also a very interesting profile of U's boss Pep Clotet in the paper.
