The box that is usually occupied by the players not involved had different people in today, a group of Asian men watching the game. Anyone else in the are recognise them? May well be nothing of course but the first time I've seen the players moved along. Probably our January signings.

The individuals looked like they were from the Indomalayan realm. A whole range of ages, all suited and booted.

May well be nothing of course but the first time I've seen the players moved along. The players normally sit in the directors seating area towards the back and towards the left as you look at the pitch, and they were there again today. However, I did see some Asian men there again, and what was more surprising is that Darryl and co left the directors area very quickly after the game e.g. before the players left the pitch which was unusual.

If they got out of Reading because the couldn't afford it they're not much use to us are they?

If they got out of Reading because the couldn't afford it they're not much use to us are they? Depends. They got reading to the championship playoffs before they couldn’t afford to go further. And then attracted even bigger investment to take them to the next level. That would be fairly useful to us I should imagine

I don't think their view is anywhere near as positive.

If some fans have an issue with Eales, they will be in for a rude awakening if Reading's old owners invest. Let's put it that way

There were also a group of Dutch or Swedish Oufc fans asking directions to the pub, shortly after I committed a red card tackle by accident on manorlounger wife in the carpark 🙈

Oh, and Mrs Lounger has forgiven you. . . . . . . just look out for a swinging handbag next time!

The fact that DE hasn't had notes in the programme for the past 2 home games, concurs with that thought

It would just seem odd if DE were to sell now after Sartori didn't work out for whatever reason

Don't buy a programme so wasn't aware of this, but to add to this Eales and co left their seats rather quickly yesterday e.g. before the Oxford players had left the pitch which isn't like him as he tends to clap the players off. Like oufcyellow mentions above, he's got the additional funds he probably wouldn't have got if he sold to Satori and knows we've got little chance of getting promotion, so what better time to sell. Hope I'm wrong though and it's just a case of someone helping him out financially.

Eales is 100% getting interest no doubt about that, just depends if he actually goes ahead this time. If Eales at this stage can make himself a tidy profit then fair enough after a good 3 years.

Well, if Mr Eales sells out to this Thai chap, rather than going into partnership with him, things will, yet again, become interesting for OUFC.
The Thai obviously thinks he can at least replicate Reading's solid Championship status, or he wouldn't bother with us. Question is, will he be convinced of Pep's ability to spend his money effectively?

He'll want to get his out of the club, so presumably wants to buy land around the stadium, plus the stadium to do so. And assumes FK will want to deal with him where he hasn't anyone else.

Paying an exorbitant rent to a slum landlord is fairly difficult I'd say. Having little or no control over non-football revenue directly related to the club is also fairly difficult (and I would point you to the excellent Fans View on Walsall to highlight this point)

Anyone attempting to buy the club without some agreement with FK to buy the stadium is going to have problems. Why replace one owner with limited funds for another in similar circumstances?

Paying a huge amount of rent to the scumbag who owns the ground. Having very few revenue streams. Relatively low crowds, all pretty difficult!

It may be difficult but it’s been pointed out by sd enough times that if we weren’t paying the rent we would be paying more in interest on a loan. And the income generated is only around 300k. So while it might be difficult circumstances, they would be all that much different in the short term even if we did own it. Unless someone can buy it outright and gift it to the club
