Interesting to hear that it was all the information being leaked that made him pull the plug. Can't blame him considering if you were trying to sale your business and suddenly details about aspects of the deal suddenly get leaked which are clearly from someone itk talking when they shouldn't be. A dig at Oxvox by DE? Anyway I think I must be one of the few who wasn't totally convinced by all the answers. Because ultimately they are just neat words from a guy good at PR, and some of them didn't feel like they aligned with my perception of the reality. I may of course be very wrong though. It feels like the past 12 months the model has changed quite a bit and there have also been a few conflicting messages. Having said that there's no denying that we are in our best position for twenty years and the quality of football is way higher.

But, as you say, we, as a club, are in a better position than for many years. I say better, that comes with reservations of course but, yes, better.

Just read the email and thought it was a comprehensive set of responses. The detail around budgets was particularly interesting i thought The other thing that caught my eye was the question around division within the fanbase. The response and question both referenced that Oxvox would look to be part of the solution in smoothing some of these divisions and i was interested in whether Oxvox has discussed this and what plans, if any, were being discussed?[/b] Not sure if this is the place we best direct questions to Oxvox, but was interested in a response on the question i posted when the responses were released. Have highlighted in bold for ease. Genuinely interested to hear what the Oxvox view is here.

Lots of things, but probably the key is an increase in regular constructive communication between OxVox/Fans and the OUFC Board - not just Darryl. This is happening and of course, OxVox continue to try to assist with positive and supportive messages and information that supports OUR club - which actually we have always endeavoured to do, primarily through our social media channels and member communication mechanics. Darryl and his Board are working hard to be open and communicative and in terms of openness, it's hard to think of ANY previous owner of our club that has been as open and forthcoming with information as him! We're currently working on a fan initiative for an upcoming game - together with the club. Also, the forum/meeting held with Ian Mixter, generated a significant number of opportunities. Minutes were taken and will be issued by Tuesday next week. Really hope people will like some of the ideas, many of which are designed to bring fans and club even closer together!! Please, if you have ANY ideas on how fans and Club can connect better, then do drop us a line, or pop your thoughts on here! Cheers Jem

Thanks and appreciate you taking the time to respond. I actually dont think this forum is a particularly good barometer of the mood of the fans, but if you assume it is one measure, then it doesn't feel very united of late. What would i like to see? I would like to see clearer messaging from Oxvox on their own view on certain key topics affecting the club, accepting that it isn't always possible or practical to comment on all areas. At the moment you have a thread on here running around the Learndirect issue and some suggesting this raises concerns about the relationship (financially) between ENSCO and OUFC and the morality of the owner (amongst other things). Me personally, i have no idea if i should be worried or not and would look towards a supporters trust to provide some insight given the greater access to information they would have.
Now maybe that is happening and i am missing the communications, but my concern is that where there is a void of information on here, people make up their own, often ill judged conclusions and perception can become reality in some peoples eyes

Again appreciate the response and do understand that you have day jobs and can't respond to every rumour or comment in real time. Hopefully, assuming true, that will allay some fears being expressed re the learn direct story.

You make a good point.
As you would expect, we have contacted Darryl for comment and he has re-assured us that this has been in the public domain and that he had had no personal involvement post the end of 2012. His view is that the issue is the poor Ofsted report and that this was a management issue and not LDC.
We are of course looking at the situation, but have chosen not to make an 'OxVox statement' until we are sure we had as many facts as possible from our own investigations, rather than immediately jumping on and speculating on media/newspaper stories.
Hope that helps!
