...the monger of doom returns.... Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble. Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg and howlet's wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Shakespeare innit! Now be careful too many arguments with people is never good for a keyboard warriors....gofish hunting, the new sport! There once was a key warrior called go, Who just never seemed to go with the flow He would hide every night Safetly, way out of sight Behind starfish and coral in his bowl. Old Viking Saga. Err, right. Anyway at least we are both happy about the appointment of Pep Clotet.

I suppose you could say that he would give the team a 'pep talk' before each game, to encourage the lads. That's #peptalk joke number 5 I think

Just thinking; those of you who follow my match 'predictions', may have noticed that I foresee dogs running onto the pitch, sometimes. Apparently, our new manager has got a PUP CLOSET. I wonder.......

I'm really looking forward to what Pep can bring to the table. Lampard was too much of a risk and I wasn't convinced about JFK. Leeds fans are very complimentary and they are a hard bunch to please. Let's all get behind him and give him time to get his ideas across. MAPP was less than average in his first 6 months and look how that turned out with a bit of patience.

I'll admit to wanting Appleton out by the end of Jan/start of Feb, but credit to the board who stuck with him. The rest is history...

We'll need to be patient, it's similar timing to when MAPP came in. I'm happy with the appointment, so I'm really interested to see how he goes.

Is there going to be a press conference to officially unveil him ? I'd guess he'd want to have a chance to introduce himself to the players before doing so to the media. He's meeting the squad today, by all accounts, so possibly a press appearance tomorrow or Wednesday. Alternately, it may just be a case of waiting till the post-match interview on Saturday.

Also says in the release from the club that Pep will talk to the media on Wednesday as the official press release.

I'd imagine the betting being suspended forced the clubs hand re: the announcement. It's entirely possible he has officially signed on today.

Own goal from the club by not getting him 'talking to the media' asap.
Do they not realise that 'talking to the media' actually means 'talking to the fans'?
The silence is deafening.

I've heard from a very reliable source (Tommy the Ketchup bottle) that even though the club have said he will speak to the media on Wednesday, he will actually be sending messages via fax to Mick Brown to relay to the fans so it is all one big lie from Eales yet again and Pep won't be directly talking to the media himself.
Another cover up by the club.

Exactly - and some players reaction - what exactly do we get for a YP subscription prior season? Our PR is really poor

I think all things considered this seems an excellent appointment. Apparently a top young, intelligent coach with lots of ambition. Clearly fits well with the clubs long term playing strategy. Yes Lampard would have been glamorous and exciting; probably attracting loads of media attention and possibly players but to me this feels a much better fit. Hoping he makes a few signings in the next few weeks as I don't think squad is quite strong enough - one would imagine DE has promised him money and showed ambition or he wouldn't have come. I can't understand why anyone would be upset with this appointment - well done to all involved!

I thought it was a bit weird that all the announcement pics were in Leeds gear. But short notice and all that , fully expecting it all to be today. It's not a big thing, but Wednesday, really ? The pr side of things at the club is still shocking, it would have taken two mins to get a photo of him holding a scarf for the story today saying he's straight into work meeting the players and working with the scouting team to identify targets. Due to this full press interviews will be on Wednesday.

I'm not particularly fussed that we've not had one yet to be honest.
I'd rather he had the chance to meet everyone at the club and have a closer look at the squad before facing questions from the media. Regardless of how much meticulous research he may have done prior to interview, actually talking to players and coaching staff and seeing them in training will give him a much clearer idea of what he's got on his plate. At least this way he will actually have more to say than just the generic "I'm delighted to have joined and am looking forward to meeting the players and working with the recruitment staff".
