Excellent email received from the OxVox committee. Although it went to junk mail! The message is stay patient, good steady, progress is being made. It appears they are approaching this matter in a very professional manner, going about it in the right way. It will take time but things still look optimistic.

Just read it. A very good update of where we are. If anyone is expecting a blow-by-blow account of the ongoing negotiations then they will be disappointed - and that is hugely unsurprising. The discussions are obviously delicate and there is little or no time pressure on some of those involved.
Keep it up, OxVox.

Seeing the board have been informed and behind it from the start, makes the recent press releases even worse. Like it says the issue won't be forced and is still working to a time scale that the club we're aware of from day 1.

Excellent update gents, let's hope the board don't throw all of their toys out.
Keep up the good work!

Pity about the 4th stand for the Newcastle game though. I wonder what the "operational issues" were?

I still think that Darryl truly wanted to purchase the stadium himself, but obviously he can not come out and say that. Not sure what his ntention were by purchasing it himself, but it certainly feels like that's what he wanted to do.
Not sure what's going to happen with next though. The next few weeks will be interesting to say the least, but I hope OxVox and the club can meet up and sort out their differences as they're clearly not singing off the same hymn book st the moment which is a shame.

I would say oxvox have sung from the same sheet all the way through, it's only recently that Darryl or the board have changed their musical tastes

I don't like it. Nothing new. It just comes across as petulant, tit for tat to me. I understand the confidentially side of it but can Oxvox please confirm the following: - Has a price for the stadium been agreed?
- If so, it is reasonable / achievable??
Surely after X months of discussions a price would have been agreed. This just feels like another kick in the balls for DE to me. I'm not a happy Oxvox member.

Tit for tat, they are having to clear up and clarify thing because of de and the. Parts confusing statements. It states there are confidentiality clauses, yet you still want to know the price. Yet again it's very well written, and based totally on facts. They are working for us fans, with the clubs knowledge and blessing. What more do u want ?

Well I'm way more confident than that, they Definitely wouldn't, and nor would the council In that case a simple sentence in one of the statements would suffice "A price has been agreed after x months of negotiations and we believe as a committee that it is achievable" I see no substance in any of the recent statements from Oxvox. This last statement is just tit for tat and I'm not impressed at all. If there is nothing new to add then don't comment. Oxvox or more likely FK are basically making threats.

How have you got that from that statement? It's clear to even a blind man that is exactly what the club have been doing lately, trying to force the issue with threats of moving the club or pulling funding, oxvox then have to release a well written statement to clear up the "facts" and confirm to members that talks are still happening and positive meetings are still taking place , and that the timescale hasn't changed from day 1 and is still on track.

Thank you OxVox.
Excellent notes and it's so very clear that the work you are doing is complex, sensitive but ultimately for the best of the club.
Those questioning the pace and/or intentions of the various parties I would suggest might not be appreciating how complicated this situation is and how much negotiating expertise is required.
If FK wasn't interested, why would he even be at the table? He wants something from this deal (thus a negotiation) and so do the other parties.
I look forward to the next update, whenever that is appropriate, and again offer my thanks for the tremendous efforts and hard work to date.

I can only concur with others here praising all the effort and work put in by the committee.
Reading the letter (it is a letter to members not a new statement) it is clear that it is not a case of agreeing a price and making payment. The realists on here had realised long ago that FK wants far more than what anyone may value the stadium in terms of bricks and mortar. (truth is he could wait, knock it down and build houses with far, far more value)
Again, well done to the committee.

Agree with all comments.
I just hope the need for press releases can now cease until there is real news.
Its pretty clear, like it or not oxvox, kassam and the council will do it at their own pace. We as fans need too stay patient and the oufc need too stay patient.
If however nothing has been said or indeed done by the summer, then ask questions. Until then leave oxvox to it.

Will never be comfortable when the club's future is in the hands of an individual, especially one in particular. Encouraged though that an offer [without knowing all the details] to put up a temp 4th stand for the Newcastle match was made. Not clear why it wasn't taken up. Worried that DE might see the OxVox latest letter to members as a negative and react.
Nobody can predict the outcome of all this, no doubt though that the next few months are likely to prove difficult for all parties, if OxVox can pull this off it would be almost miraculous and I'd hope that the membership would increase significantly as a result.
If, the outcome leaves us with a 'Community stadium' but minus DE and perhaps Mapp it would be a step forward and several back, imho.

Phew, a pretty hard hitting statement.
I can understand why Oxvox are so upset about the club's statements of late. Hopefully this statement will not inflame things further.
It is really important now that the club and supporters pull together. Fair play to Oxvox on making so much progress. Hopefully they can pull this off.

"Strongly worded" probably sums up this, and all previous official statements made by OxVox, DE and the board. Strongly-worded statements all round. Hurray!!

I will believe everything when it is done and dusted butif this time next year we are still in the same situation then I would like to see the full contents of the meetings that have taken place and of course an explanation as to why we are still in this situation.

Just read this and I'm worried that this is going to further inflame the situation. Although the work OxVox are doing is good, only around 15% of our fanbase are members and I don't want to see the divisions become wider and DE feels as though his position is untenable.
I'm a half glass empty person - so if DE says enough is enough, could OxVox keep the club sustainable until the stadium is resolved? It's turning into a potentially dangerous situation with two sides not on the same page.
