Sh*t happens. We move on. First loss in 9 is it? Guess it's time to welcome back all the people who only comment when we lose. It's been a while, nice to hear from you.

Whenever one of their players who was on a yellow committed a foul, the ref just didn't book them no matter how bad it was
2 mins of injury time at the end should have been 5, and he played 5
Maguire MOTM can only have been a sick joke by whoever chose that, the free kick at the end summed his performance up
Couldn't really see their goal but wasn't Eastwood down and injured when they scored?

WElle one could hardly expect a team consisting of three defenders, two midfielder, one forward and four wingers to succeed now can one.

Performance sounded pretty good and we were unlucky not to win. We are still in a great position. Let Northants have their day in the sun. They will never be more than a league one club. We will look down on them in a few years time and laugh at lucky little Northants

f*ck right off.
How did the pikey stay on, could have had 7 yellows on his own. And the no 10, both did worse fouls than the ones they were booked for and the ref totally bottled it. They were shit and we tested the keeper once. Such a let down again in front of a big crowd. Rob hall on the right, waste of time. Keep pumping it up to hemmings or Taylor, shit tactic, defenders dealt with it all the time. Only positives, lunny looked much better, and Johnson was class today some great tackles.
One annoyance, Chris maguire will not move without the ball at feet, so many times we started to break at pace and end up passing backwards to a stationary maguire with his arms in the air. What's the bets we now rip wallsal a new one in front of a smaller crowd.
Finally - yet again Northampton get the points, after playing the second best football

same story as usual, we control the game, have loads of opportunity but no real quality in the final 3rd and a then the standard sloppy conceded goal that has cost us. We are close to being a top L1 side, its just frustrating to lose points the way we do.

Did anyone notice the referee booked the wrong player in the first half when it should have been O toole?
Had he got that right he'd have been off in the second half

Don't want to write the chap off but it's about time he started delivering some goals PDQ. I hope he does come good but am not seeing any sign that he will.

I feel like the players and the manager should have got on more at the referee. Their players would foul us and we'd stand there looking sad. Get in his face!

Hemmings will come good as soon as we play to his strengths and provide the kind of delivery on which he thrives. That will only happen with Johnson and Hall providing the kind of assists that Greg Stewart gave Hemmings at Dundee. COYY

Northampton bossed the first part of the game and we really struggled to get any momentum - but they weren't that threatening. The second half we got a grip of the game but didn't really create much on goal. Lots of shots high, wide and handsome and few telling crosses in the box. Harsh one to lose. What a niggly side they were though. Falling over injured, only to get up when the game was stopped. Against the spirit of the game for me.
The Ref was a curious one. Let a lot go at either end for both sides, far more fussy in the middle to a point. Not sure what O'Toole or Revell had to do to get 2nd booking. O'Toole in particularly was given chances that others player weren't allowed. Their player got booked 2 mins after O'Toole did the same thing but was let off of a 2nd booking. If a Ref goes into a game seemingly wanting to keep the red card in the pocket, it takes a disciplinary tool away needlessly. It's either a yellow or not, not whether a player has been booked.
The Vardy sending off last week and the lack of this week for them shows what a lot of work the FA have to do to get that off the floor challenges consistently punished. I can see why Leicester appealed because the PGMOL simply cannot agree on how the rule should be implemented on a game by game basis.

COYY To be fair macca and Johnson both put in the "kind of balls he thrives on" today, both times he didn't he move towards the ball. Only had to stick out a foot or head and it would have been in, saying that it was only 2 chances, the rest of the time we just booted it up for him to battle with the centre backs, a lot of the time he couldn't even jump for as he had one of them climbing on his back

Most crosses were fizzed across the box, little was played into feet for the attackers to get on the end of.

We weren't robbed today and the referee wasn't biased. We were just quite poor. Bar some decent heading by Dunkley and a decent performance by Maguire, we were about as good/bad as they were. Hemmings is anonymous, Taylor finds himself up against it at this level, Johnson might make a decent wing back one day.
We need a finisher, desperately.

No nobody wants to write him off but his whole body language today & in other matches shows someone who will not break sweat unless it's put on a plate. I also cannot believe he was really that good in the SPL - can one player (Stewart) really have made that much difference? The crosses are coming in & he (& a few others!) have just got to get their heads & bodies in the mix. Jon Akinde is the only real improvement that we can afford & I hear Mapp reckons he hasn't got the right DNA?
