Rumours abound that the barbers leave things a little short up top and concerns about what is left back. Other than that, most people seem generally happy with end results. I've heard that they occasionally opt for a sweeper to help them clear up.

The Market barber is owned by John Gowing who also owns a ย Jewellers in the Market I knew that but didn't want to say so. Didn't he use to race motorcycles and touring cars in his younger days ? I know he sponsors or certainly used to MotoGP rider Bradley Smith. If he's prepared to give up part of one of his shops to help the club out then Fairplay to him I hope all supporters if given the opportunity support his jewellers or barbers

20% discount is no good for me Bald mofo? Surely not! The last time I saw Mario Kempes he had full head of flowing locks. Mind you that was in the 1978 World Cup.

Popped into the shop today and bought a new cup. Was me and a family of 5 in there with some language students/tourists looking in through the windows! It is odd having to go into the barbers and it's extremely small but it'll still probably do better than the club shop at the stadium!!

I was in the West Ham store today with a hammers supporting mate. Obviously they are a big club with the fan base to make it worthwhile. What a range of merchandise they have!
I am always keen to see a decent retro range, they had loads and I wish that was something the club would look at.

They guy working in there said that the place has been flooded with tourists all day. He also said that a lot have expressed interest in attending matches, so it's slightly unfortunate it wasn't open before the two recent pre-season matches. I think it's s very good move by the club. Well done to all involved.

Just gotta hope that if they decide to leave early, or go and get a cuppa before half time they don't get day tripper/loyal fans-style abuse from some of our fans. We need all the money we can get.

Not that they got any abuse, but there were people leaving five minutes before the end of the Birmingham firendly. I didn't understand why, it wasn't exactly going to take an age to get out of the car parks and the result didn't matter. It might have been nice to stay to give the team a clap at the end after a pretty decent second half!

Maybe the guy who has provided the city centre retail space from his own business would like to watch his team on a Saturday rather than working himself into the ground?

Maybe the guy who has provided the city centre retail space from his own business would like to watch his team on a Saturday rather than working himself into the ground? No that's not the case, The Market Barber who provided the space for the Club Shop is open.....and busy. (I've just walked past!) Meanwhile, Oxford city centre and The Covered Market in particular is RAMMED full of Locals and Visitors. I assume that the retail arm of OUFC have their reasons for not opening on Saturdays, but I cannot see the logic.

Ah, that's it! After a couple of days of positive stuff across social media, sections of our fan base have found something to whinge at!
In time, they will open on a Saturday. But given its the first week of trading and they are still getting set up and it's still pr season. I can fully understand why it's not open today.
If that's the case in a few weeks time then people will have a point.

I don't think it's moaning at the club, it's trying to get the best possible, read Darryls notes (if ur an oxvox member that is) he says he welcomes ideas on improving sales and the club. Not forgetting ur hardly mr positive on all aspects , and went on a six month plus boycott of the club as u didn't like a previous manager ๐. Opening on a Saturday is a must, and is quite likely they will in the future. I would say it would even be far more cost effective what with selling tickets as well, to shut the shop at the Kassam on non match Saturdays, and use the staff in the centre.

If that's the case in a few weeks time then people will have a point. I don't think it was a whinge, certainly not from me... and I don't think from others either. I was simply pointing out the unusual situation where (any) retail unit is closed on, what is generally considered to be, THE busiest trading day of the week. If someone can explain the reason then I'd be very happy to listen, but, as I suggested earlier, it seems on odd decision on the face of it?

If that's the case in a few weeks time then people will have a point. Perhaps more worrying is the fact that there is a very smart, permanent, signwritten notice which states that the opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm.

Think it will open on Saturday's when the season starts. When the tourists have left? And Oxford fans will be attending games? Lots of positives on the pitch and that's the most important but a few tweaks needed off the pitch.
