After we'd lost a goal! Too late. True, but that's an Appleton tactic, we play till the end, has he ever say and protected a lead? It's admirable but naive and you don't always play the same tactic surely! He thinks we can play like Man U I think and stick to 4-4-2 and go and get more goals. The best Managers change it around to stop momentum swings. i don't see anything wrong with protecting a lead in the right situation.

Disappointing end to the game that. Played well for 60 and drifted out of the game. Maybe we need to be more defensive away from home as clearly the form just ain't there

I agree, just saying he's never been the sort of manager happy to do that, will always look to get 2 rather than defend 1. Signing ledson might be exactly what he was on about, being able to change the tactics. Pack the midfield and shut the game out by keeping possession.

He's too naive, it's system A or system A. Unless he's prepared to adapt, it'll be Groundhog Day!

Sadly, we have a game on Tuesday so no respite for the players. I hope we pay the 5k fine and play a scratch team
If Skarz is out for a while, we desperately need cover at the back. Maybe even play the 433 with Rothwell, Crowley and Ledson in.

Would have been great to see him throw Ledson in to help keep hold of the ball. Hopefully he'll learn now we've lost 3 straight away games.

Rob Hall coming back will help the pace issue, but we do need something else up top or wide both in the meantime and to cover injuries

We are going to need to start picking up points away at some time if we are to survive this season, need to sort the defence out to do that, 3 games and 6 goals conceded is poor.

I think he might be 1 step ahead of u Well, maybe he could have tried to use a second approach when it was clearly needed, as Sheffield were dominating. Chill though, hopefully through poor results like this, he will see he not only needs to have another up his sleeve but also implement it when things aren't going our way. Rochdale next week is a real chance to get three points, with any further additions he will bring in. COYY

Knew it was going to be tough, especially with so many out and lots of replacements. Still need to strengthen in a couple of areas and the system isn't working. Think Ledson could be a cracking little player for us because quite frankly, Lundstram and Sercombe are letting us down defensively.
Also need more pace in attack, we're not working defences hard enough, let alone goalkeepers, but that should become easier when we start winning the midfield battle. Hurry back Curtis Nelson! Aaron Martin was allowed to walk for a reason, and we're discovering that.

He's too naive, it's system A or system A. Unless he's prepared to adapt, it'll be Groundhog Day! It's early season and we are bedding in new players. We have used a number of systems since Mapp has been here and he's just brought in a player he specifically said would help him implement another style of play. We had a fantastic away record last season. How do a few games in a new league with a host of new players lead you to say he's naive, a one trick pony or that we are headed for disaster?
