The introduction of Bailey and Rebecca and the Farrs Catering Team has been very positive. The quality of food, refreshments and level of service is as good as it's ever been at The Kassam. So thank you very much. It isn't Bailey's fault about the contract situation (and situation between OUFC and FIROKA) but we were hugely concerned and disappointed about the news we were given recently that Oxford United don't get any split from any form of catering. We understand this extends to the Headington Bar and Quadrangle when we were told a few years ago their was a split deal under Ian Lenagan and Firoka. I'm sure I read from the old OxVox guard on here that a split was agreed, but they wouldn't say what the split was as it was CIC. Just another reason why you guys are doing a much better job. Looking back it makes me shudder how poor OxVox was and how IL manipulated the committee by keeping them far too close.

This is the best thread on this website. Pies bring everyone together Whist I agree that Pies help bring everyone together, the addition of Mushy peas would complete the job. All we are saying is give peas a chance

I think for the games where there is a larger home attendance in the North Stand (hopefully most of them!) it would be good if a second serving area was opened, under the central section.
It does exist, but needs fitting out. I know this has a cost but maybe it would be a start if it was for beer only, or tea and coffee etc, not food. That way people wanting a quick half time drink wouldn't have to queue with loads of kids getting food, and the kids wouldn't get jostled by loads of impatient blokes. Farrs could also profit significantly I'd think?

Any chance of some more veggie options? A veggie balti pie or something? It is often 50/50 whether there is any hot food available suitable for vegetarians. The quality has been excellent when it has been available though. Probably not veggi balti, but I am bringing in a cheese and onion pasty, homity pies didn't take off as I had hoped. Hope you continue to sell the homity pie though. I'm not a vegetarian but thought the homity was really good and would definitely have it again given the chance.

Any chance of a chicken balti pie next season?
After what has been said about the fixed rent agreement I would suggest it is in the fans interest to start buying the food again as it will then mean farrscatering make a profit and as they say, OUFC will be able to have a share of that.

Exactly. I think if u were to come out and say, once were in profit, we will give 10% or so back to the club u would see ur sales rocket up

The beer only at half time rule was a consequence of hillsborough. Now they proved it wasn't drunk fans fault they should let us drink during the game again When we played Sheffield Wednesday this season at Hillsborough my mate and I were having a drink in the bar in the stand. We were talking to a supervisor about half time drinking and I said it was a stupid rule not to serve before the whistle, and she said it's not a league rule. She said you can drink here all through the game if you want to as long as the drinks are not taken past the entrances. I think this should be checked out, it would make it a lot easier.

Homity pie and real cider were both great. Will we need a Save the Homity campaign?
I was also going to mention ordering half time drinks before kick off - seems like an obvious and simple way to double sales at half time. I don't know anyone who even bothers to try to get a drink at the moment, but plenty who would like one!

I always thought the law was only that you couldn't drink alcohol "within sight of the pitch" - are there additional FA rules on top of that?

The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 prevents:-
drunken entry into a football ground (which, in practice, to be an arrestable offence includes disorderly behaviour); the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area including, during the restricted period (15 minutes before the start of the event to 15 minutes after the end of the event), rooms within the ground from which the event may be directly viewed; the consumption of alcohol on certain coaches, trains and motor vehicles travelling to a designated football match; the possession of fireworks or flares.
The Act applies to the following sporting events:-
Association football matches in which one or both of the participating teams represents a club which is for the time being a member (whether a full or associate member) of the Football League, the Football Association Premier League, the Football Conference National Division, the Scottish Football League or Welsh Premier League, or represents a country or territory. Association football matches in competition the Football association Cup (other than in the preliminary or qualifying round). The Act only applies in England and Wales.
The Act does not apply at grounds where a match is being watched on a screen as part of a 'beam back'So, nothing in there that says drinks cannot be bought and consumed at any time... as long as it's not consumed within sight of the pitch then it's fine.

I went to a match at the Emirates and the curtains come down in the hospitality level during the game so in theory you can't watch the game with a beer. Also in Plymouth's concourse you can see the pitch near the entrance to the stand, so they have yellow hatching , and stewards making sure no-one can have an alcoholic drink during the match and see the pitch.

Looking back it makes me shudder how poor OxVox was and how IL manipulated the committee by keeping them far too close. With the greatest of respect, we have no reason to believe a deal between IL and Firoka wasn't in place. It may have expired when the club changed ownership but we don't know. We will find out. If on the other hand, no deal was in place, then we'd be bitterly disappointed and shocked because we, like the entire fanbase via the media, were told different. Ian Lenagan did not manipulate the committee.

You can drink and watch the game at MK because the walls of the concourses are glass so I'm told!

Suggestions Still need to sort quicker way of serving people be good to have barriers to make the queuing seem better and prevent people jumping in. Comment for Oxford Mail stand only Why can not serve beer during the game and this ridiculous process of waiting for the half time whistle Draught Beer from Plastic bag was more than acceptable to me and was a good pint. Credit cards = delays ! Credit cards = delays Contactless debit cards = quicker than cash & change
