Sorry if im posting this early, but only opportunity today as im working all afternoon/evening.
This is a very important game, and could well see us on 79 points come the close of play, or being level with the teams below. We really need to assert ourselves early in this one, and go all guns blazing from the off. We need to put them under as much pressure as possible, and get that early goal to settle everyone down. Im hopeful we can do that, and get them much needed 3 points.
Expecting a good atmosphere tomorrow, and a good size crowd.
9800+
Prediction OUFC 3-1 Luton

with Bristol at home to yeovil and accrington at home to morecambe, and the form those two are in, you would expect guaranteed wins for those two. someone in another thread pointed out that we have been very good against bottom-half teams this calendar year: "our record against the bottom half of the table in 2016 is truly spectacular. 4-2 Morecambe, 4-2 Notts County, 4-0 York, 4-0 D&R, 3-0 Barnet, 5-1 Crawley." Read more: yellowsforum.co.uk/thread/23313/promotion#ixzz45sdnava2but i think its worth pointing out that the only two of those wins that came at home were against york and dagenham - who were, with all due respect, utter dogsh*t. the other home games against teams currently in the bottom half (stevenage, mansfield) resulted in draws. with that in mind, and the fact that luton are a decent side, i would happily take a draw here. barring a 17 goal victory from accrington, it would keep us in second and our points total ticking over. a loss would be terrible: we'd stay in the playoff places but i think the psychological effect of losing a home game when we only have three left would have an adverse effect on our remaining home performances - which will be crucial.

Not sure which table you are looking at but how can we stay in the play off places if we are not in them at the moment? If we lose we could drop to third , which is an automatic promotion spot- is that what you meant to say.......

I have a feeling it'll be 1-1. I'd be more confident if we were away!
We just need to win, I don't care how or how ugly it may be we just need to win.
If we get a point and other results go our way we could at least secure a playoff place tomorrow. But that's very much plan B.

I still think we need another 10 points to be certain of a promotion place, so we're going to have to win both our remaining away games plus one home game and then pick up a point from one other. A draw tomorrow would therefore not be a disaster, but would mean we'd need to do Hartlepool the following week. I simply cannot see us getting anything out of the Wycombe game, and would rather not have to rely on it anyway, so we're either promoted by the end of April or it won't happen, is my view.

Appleton came in late one season? Does he still think Waddock is in charge?
I think we will win 2-1 with Lunny and Hylton getting our goals.

Now for some bad news sort of If we are going to win this game we will have to grind out a 1-0 win Because every time we score 5 in a game we only score 1 in the following game. In our history dating back to our first ever season in the football league in 1962 we have only scored more than 1 after scoring 5 the previous game about 5 times.

It's high time we stopped relying on our away form to take us up.
I believe we'll gain at least seven points from our three remaining home games.
It'll be a 3-1 win tomorrow, with goals from Hylton, MacDonald and Sercombe.
The attendance will be 8,597.

Last time we beat Luton, Jamie Cook scored that belter from long range. We haven't beaten them since ... However, we hadn't beaten Crawley since 2009 until last week.
Some sort of Pat Hoban style tread-on-the-ball winner for Hylton tomorrow?

Ah that belter from Jamie Cook. Happy nights. Going to be edgy tomorrow a couple of early Oxford goals would settle nerves (well mine at any rate) Going for 3-1 Oxford and a warm fuzzy glow which lasts all week.

Team?
Buchel
Kenny Mullins Dunkley Evans
MacDonald Lundstram Sercombe Maguire
Hylton O'Dowda
Does Lundstram replace Ruffels? Who do you drop for Roofe? Wright for Dunkley?

After our struggles first half at creepy, I'm hoping that we start right on the front foot for this. A win of any sort would be priceless and if Roofe starts then 2-0 .

I've had a really nasty bug this week. It's called 'Enza'. Its an airborne disease that literally flies through the air, settling on anyone unfortunate to breathe it in. Anyway, I sat next to an open window, and in flew Enza! Consequently, I haven't been feeling my usual self; so I don't know if I'll get my predictions right this week. I can see Oxford United 2 Luton 1, with Evans getting a brace. The Attendance? 9232 and 1109 away fans. Its the off-field shenanegans, that are puzzling me, though. I predict: Ka-Ka-Curse-him will announce a rise in rent, before the game, in keeping with West Ham's £2.5 Million deal. We will have to supply the goals and corner flags, too. Oxford United wll announce their ground-share scheme - with Oxford Speedway making a return at the Curse-him stadium. Instead of motor bikes, though, the riders will have to race round on pogo sticks. The idea will fall flat on its face - as will the racers. Luton's team bus will get stuck on the M40, so the game won't start until 4:30pm. Skarz's injury will be worse than first thought and he will have to have his penis amputated. Whilst waiting for Luton to arrive, the Oxford players will do leap-frog exercises, to warm up. Roofe will rupture his scrotum in the process. In the pre-game warm up, Dunkley will go to head the ball, but miss and accidently nut the now-defunct scoreboard. Magically, it will come back to life - as a disco lighting machine. One of the Luton fans will hire the Nolan Sisters for the day and they will sing throughout the game. An Oxford fan will bring an inflatable Des O'Connor doll into the ground. A Luton fan will let off a stink bomb. The ref will fall over and dislocate his coccyx. He will be lent a mobility scooter and continue to referee the game, racing around the place in it. Oxford will get a penalty and Sercombe, wth renewed confidence, will step up and take it. He will miss. Badly. A weird-looking dog will run onto the pitch. It will be a cross between a Great Dane and a Chihuahua. The legs will be that of a Great Dane. At half-time, Peter Rhodes Brown will be asked to recite a poem called 'Red rhubarb really ruins Rodney's rectum'. Ticket number 000001 will be the winning 50/50 ticket. It will be my ticket! One of the floodlights will explode and the match ball will have a puncture. That just about does it for me.

I think 1-0 with Lundstram scoring with ten minutes to go. Have to be careful with this one as I reckon there could be a batch of yellows if not a red

3 nil. Hylton, MacDonald, Hylton. The team will be far more confident than most on here and will take this at a canter.
