Been saying for ages we need a club song/anthem
Loads of clubs have them and they are quite often not football related but fun and something everyone can belt out!
Man City have blue moon, Rangers have penny arcade, and there's loads more examples
So could that be something that could be looked at?

Depending on how optimistic (or not) you are: 'Buddy, Can You Spare A Dime' or 'Good Times'?

Something, I would suggest, that we are never going to all agree on.
OX4 by Ride would be my choice. Oxford band, and a song about Oxford.

Older supporters might remember that a club song was introduced in the late '60s (and, I think, was played at the Manor on at least one occasion). It was written by someone called Ed Welch, whose name I used to see on some TV credits from time to time. I believe he used to appear as a pianist on the "Diane Solomon Show".
So far as I recall, the song went like this:
There's only one team in the land. Dressed in gold and black, With a game or two in hand. Singing, Oxford, We're gonna win the league some day.
I didn't think it was that great.

Just has to be a catchy tune everyone can sing, does mot have to be connected to football
Seriously i think it would be good to adopt a song

The club song - I prefer"Anthem" - isn't something that you can contrive; it's got to sort of happen.
The Perkele thing was ok, but it was voted in by committee and although it was played and sung along to in the pre-match build up, it was never belted out by the crowd when the game was in play.
Clubs with "anthems" tend to have songs that were products of their time and were adopted in the same moment. Perhaps we could have done it with a London Road favourite like "Molly Malone", but the time for that has probably gone and we would need find something from the current chart. It doesn't have to be "pumping" or "cool", but a song with easily recognisable words and a melody that carries.
And then you've got to sing it and hope people join in rather than thinking you a little odd.....

what was wrong with Perkele? It's a Swedish Nationalist Pride song, but I thought it suited our club pretty well. "My heart beats for you the yellow and the blue".... although maybe a lyric change to "my heart bleeds for you"
