salt in the wounds time - Jack Midson scores to send Wimbledon 3rd and us 4th! Should we take Smalley off to make sure he can play next week? And Morgan scores again for Wycombe Wilder has no other choice but to leave Smalley on as our number of available players is getting very limited

At least Worley has scored for Newport to knock Exeter back a bit! I'm just saying we dont want him aggravating his injury by staying on and leaving us NO strikers for next week. Either Williams on and Potter into the middle or, despite what I said earlier, maybe even Shama

Call me crazy, but I'm not too disheartened by that performance. We were outclassed by a better team, and hamstrung by a terrible ref, true. But there was enough there to tell me we can make a proper promotion challenge this year. The proof will come when we have an extended set of fixtures against the middling teams, not when we're up against the best.
I dunno, maybe I am just hopelessly optimistic...

Trevor Kettle was the worst referee I've seen for quite some time. The general performance was pitiful. I can see why he sent off Whing. I don't agree with the decision, but I can see the logic. Morsy's tackle on Kitson was disgraceful. The ball wasn't there and he mullered him on the leg.
If he is sending Whing off for that, Morsy should have gone or gone for persistent offending. Morsy was allowed to foul all game but Kettle did nothing about it but a sympathy booking at the end. It was a poor decision in a poorly officiated match. Chesterfield did well and played well and deserved the points.
We lost 1-0 and it should have been more. To keep going with 10 men and to hit the post shows the attitude this team has. It's a shame some our fans would rather moan all game and be negative about everything than support the team. If you are going to do that, p*ss off and don't bother coming again. You are a disgrace.

We were outclassed. Right result. Would have been a travesty if we'd nicked a point from our two, maybe three chances ... Gutted we didn't though.
Thought Raynes and Hall did well today. Kitson looked like he didn't want a trip to hartlepool so was determined to get a booking and this miss the trip up north.
Referee... Did ok, - third of refs would have given Whing a straight red, from our perspective unfortunately this guy was in that third! I think the chesterfield manager thought it was a yellow as well as the majority who were there. It was massively late.
Not at all despondent, I think we are definitely playoff material and maybe, just maybe, good enough to go up.

Spot on, we were good but not good enough, but we did keep the score to 0-1 with 10 men and made some half decent chances. Given the number of senior players that are now unavailable I think we might be in for a rough few games. Whingers stay at home - we need fans who will get behind the lads, not on their backs.

Dunno, there were some real dickheads around today. Some of the comments shouted were just pathetic (and once or twice contradictory to what the same person had said minutes earlier).

Reference your last sentence, not the most clever thing you have wrote. Maybe those fans have seen the way we have stuttered in the previous 3 home games. Quite likely they have, and they've moaned through all three. We're in our worst position this season - 4th with one defeat, there's another 19 teams who would be happy to swap with us. We really don't have much to complain about. "Supporters" should do just that - *SUPPORT* the team through thick and thin, and those who won't do that do no favours to the club at all.
