As part of the plans to improve the match day experience, Saturday has been designated, Yellow Army Flag Day www.oufc.co.uk/news/article/00200813-flag-day-1004425.aspxOver the summer, a number of fans suggested we have a flag day. The barrier at the front of each stand, is ideal to hang flags on. If you have a flag, then please bring it along and hang it over the barrier. Every stand can get involved, and play a part. You can bring string to hang your flags, or pegs, that can be attached to cable ties that will be on the barriers. Bring any waving flags you have. There will be Yellow Army waving flags on sale outside the 12th Man Bar on Saturday, that will cost £6. We hope there will be a small profit, and every penny will be reinvested to improve Oxford United home matches. So your support is appreciated. A new 5m by 3m legends banner will be unveiled on Saturday, and will be hung at the back of the North Stand. Get involved, organise your flags, tell your mates, and help make Yellow Army Flag Day a success. Twitter - @ussoufc WE ARE THE YELLOW ARMY!!

If anybody in Thame would like to take my flag to the game, they can come pick it up. It's an 8x4 St Georges Cross with Oxford United through the middle and "On Tour" in separate corners.

Lets fill the stadium with flags. LJS made loads a few years ago, we used to have a lot at every game. So we have enough flags between us! So everyone bring them along!! There is now more places to hang them inside the stadium than ever before! The ultras will sort the very back wall out in the ox mail end, if anyone is willing to help out. Please do, we need more numbers sorting them out pre match. There is the empty seats in the North stand to cover up with fans flags, as well as the Ox head surfer being in there. There are 2 wire lines at the back of the North stand. As well as hooks on the top of the wall behind the back row of the Ox mail end to tie flags to, and the metal fences along the front of the Ox mail and North stands. Lets cover it up! Lets get as much yellow into the stadium as possible! And hopefully JL can persuade the club to allow a couple of large banners to go along the fence too.
Bring your flags, and spread the word on twitter and facebook!

Pity the poster uses an image with more red flags than yellow and blue.
I thought we had got past the stage of using St George flags at Oxford games. In fact, remembering back, it was that Exeter match with those flags that was a catalyst for getting more yellow and blue into the ground.

I had to come up with something at short notice, using a picture with flags.
It's just to show that we can get a lot of flags up, which is the idea of Saturday.
Any Oxford flag will be good to see on Saturday

Of all the colours red and white is not welcome at an Oxford game

I don't want to distract attention from the aim of this thread also Im not sure how well it would work but what about a scarf game? In my opinion theres no better sight than something like this: Like I said Im not entirely sure how effective it would be. Attachments:

A scarf day is planned for another game. It was another popular suggestion
I know the poster might not be the best to some, but you can see what is trying to be achieved here.

JL asked me to.design a flyer yesterday i said it would be done by lunchtime today which it was. As I was short of pictures I posted a thread on here appealing for people to send me pictures that I could use, one guy responded but sadly the pics he sent were not right.
JL suggested I use the Exeter pic, while I too thought there were a lot of St George's crosses on show I felt it wax the best option taking into account the lack of time we had to get something together.
Here's a thought, maybe some of the people who are complaining about the choice of pics could have sourced some when I asked for help.

A scarf game would be a good one. However, if yiu ask the fans to bring a scarf 50% won't but if tge scarves were provided by the club on every seat....

What like some plastic premier ship game where they have their 'atmosphere' spoon fed to them with club provided scarves ?

I've now replaced the pic on the flyer with a collage of JLS' home-made flags. I think it looks crap but hopefully it will stop him f*cking whining!

Thank you loveandpride. I know this all happened last minute, despite me trying to arrange everything a couple of weeks ago. I appreciate you changing it, and I will change it In my original post when I am home from work.

Lets try and keep the focus on making Saturday a success, and continue the progress.
If we all support it, and work together, then it will add something to our home matches, and start off fans bringing flags to every home game.

I personally prefer the St George OUFC flags. Also the club and country OUFC badges are spot on...

Probably unlikely, but does the club have any issues with too many flags at the ground? H&S, fire hazard etc.
PS. I prefer the yellow flags but a selection of St George style flags is also fine with me.

The club are supportive of the fans having more flags and banners in the stadium, to add colour and help improve the atmosphere on a match day

The new Oxford United legends banner, arrived yesterday, and will be on display at the back of the North Stand tomorrow.
If you have a flag, bring it along tomorrow. It's another way to make the stadium feel like home, and increase enjoyment on a match day for everyone connected with the club

This is one piece of smart artwork and I look forward to the comments made about it tomorrow and over the weekend. We can then all debate if the choice of legends were appropriate.......

Will that wonderful ULTRAS banner that a couple of the lads hoisted into position before Bury be able to be tied down so it remains in place for the enitre game?
Well done to the ULTRAS and Joe and L&P.

BB, it might not be able to happen tomorrow, but it is being discussed, so will hopefully happen soon, possibly Yellow Army Day.
It's definitely something that should happen, if it's possible.
L&P, the Ultras are taking care of the back wall of the East stand tomorrow, so I'm sure it will.

Thanks BB for the "piece of smart artwork" comment. It came together quite nicely, and I am pleased with the end result. Just hope it goes down well. I am sure the choice of legends will be debated. I am glad I didn't choose the legends as I would have probably ran out of room.
