surely Firoka selling the stadium would be nothing but positive for OUFC???
We couldnt have a worse landlord than we have could we?

But you would have thought that some of the posters on YV who are so vocal and critical of the current committee would actually get out from behind their keyboards and do something tangible... rather than spouting off endlessly. Thats a very good point LJS, but I can't see any of them putting themselves forward to stand for the committee. I quite agree LJS. In fact I had lunch with some of them a couple of weeks ago and told them to do precisely that. As you might expect they didn't want to. Every excuse under the sun not to do so, but it comes down in my view to a combination of laziness, a desire to overly criticise others who make an effort, and a fear of being criticised themselves.

No surprise there ....
I hope that Jeremy Thomas can help as he’s fab at legal stuff and was my last line manager (of many) at my workplace at Oxford City Council. By means of a bonus he’s also a Swansea boy and therefore understands what can be done when a community gets together and sees the financial benefit of a successful football club in the local area.
Crofton Briggs is a different sort of person.

How long is the contract we have with the stadium does anyone know? Also interested to know how much we pay annually? Did the amount go down when London Welsh moved in?

Roughly.....we have 12 years left on our lease. We pay circa £600k PA in Rent and Service charges. The amount did not go down when LW arrived but it is unclear what our Rugby chums pay.
The suggestion they are moving to Witney alerted Mr Kassam who invited them for further talks.

Did we not balls it up regarding the lease?....ie was our agreement based upon the number of days we could use the pitch per season?, thereby allowing the egg chasers to "rent" a number of days during their season? If that is true then we really did drop a bollock!....before they turned up, I likely many, assumed we were renting the stadium /ground for the term of the lease! I could be totally wrong ....but hey ho!

No surprise there .... I hope that Jeremy Thomas can help I would hope so, seeing as he's the councils head legal honcho, I would have hoped that the Councils decision was watertight.

Did we not balls it up regarding the lease?.... Not really, I'm sure the lease is based upon usage, but neither OUFC nor LW have fixed usage. Negotiating a lease which would have allowed OUFC exclusive use, would have cost more money. A lot more money. Last year LW paid circa £450k for 17 games this year around £200k for 10. as things currently stand, with the possibility of play-offs still to come.
