Sounds like the young ones are coming on nicely. Well done. The youngsters worked their socks off in this match. Still a long way to go but at least they tried. Unfortunately they were let down badly by the so-called first teamers who played. Most of them played as if it was an end of season chore that had to be got through. (Which I suppose it was really)

Fair play to Fordy's City, they did well last night, first half just about edging it, the City team having played together a lot was a factor I reckon & they played decent footy too especially during normal time. Yellows youngsters looked pretty good too, O'dowda was outstanding I thought. Wasnt too sure about Ty Marsh out on the right, that said he was lively at times as the match went on. Roberts was promising after he came on for a late cameo appearance, taking his goal superbly. Long and Lyn looked decent too, when the latter was subbed after suffering from cramp in the second half of normal time O'dowda showed his versatility dropping back a bit deeper. IL has announced that youngsters WILL feature in the coming season, so it was good to see that the Yellows have some prospects with real promise coming through the ranks. And, when City have a home game next season, obviously when the Yellows are'n't in action, I may well pop down to Court Place Farm.
Now for a few thoughts on the Ox. Senior cup final in general. Shame on OFA for not having anything resembling the line up in their programme regarding the Yllows, out of 24 players named only 5 corresponded with those who did feature ( though printed misinformation maybe down to lack of correct information being supplied by IL's regime? ), after each and every one of the 6 goals were scored... there was NO announcement as to who had scored, ditto when substitutions were made. With the crowd of close to 1000 crowd crammed into the fence end section of SSL, seeing exactly who it was putting the ball in the net in front of the east stand wasnt easy!. Suprisingly there WAS an announcer on site as, at half time albeit after whoever it was had swallowed a pillow, in a muffled way we were informed that it was a no smoking stadium and anyone going outside to smoke wouldnt be allowed back in.Even the 'screen in the SSL concourse was silent/off at half time so those at the match wanting to keep abreast of the Champions League 2nd leg had to rely on hand held devices as even the Stadium scoreboard was blank for the duration. Personally I would have preferred to have watched the game at Court Place Farm. OGB Ka$$am then wouldn't've been financially gaining, instead 'City wouldve made a bit of cash, and after watching the Yellows v Banbury semi final there, Id say that City's home playing surface is more suitable for playing football on than the one under Ka$$ams ownership.AND the clubhouse at CPF wouldve had the Champions League game/ updates on their big screen! Old ticket stubs from the last league home game still floating in/ part blocking the urinals speaks volumes on Stadco's (lack of) approach in general.Mind you those of us who go to watch the Yellows regularly know what a cold, souless place the stadium on Greenoble road is and what a penny pinching tightwad Ka$$am is too ...& from what I was reliably informed last night IL in many ways has a similar 'moths in the wallet' affinity with OGB, but that is for another thread. OFA should, for the near future at least, hold their senior cup final at Court Place Farm, where Im sure both they and a local OXFORD football club would both make a few £ each, instead of lining Ka$$ams pocket in return for not a lot!

I agree with you sarge, it should be played at CPF. But i suppose the players like the facilities so it feels like a final. Not having a PA was really bad. The poor guy from Oxfordshire FA needed to shout his speech. It was pretty shambolic!
