Agreed apart from Heslop I think CW will stick with Clist. U could be right, think Clist has been a bit to light weight the last few weeks against stronger midfields.

Yeh he had a tough time at the weekend, but he has been the only consistent member of the midfield so far. Mite be time for a rest though.

Clarke Batt Jimmy Wright Tonkin Payne Mclaren Heslop Maclean Beano Craddock Personally I would like to see this team, although I think Wilder may well stick with Clist instead of Payne. I think Asa Hall has been a bit off the pace recently..

Clarke Batt Jimmy Wright Tonkin Payne Mclaren Heslop Maclean Beano Craddock Harry will start, as will Clisty. Would like to see Payne start but think CW will prob go with unchanged team.

Worley has been excellent in recent weeks but there's not been anything to suggest he should be dropped.

Jimmy was bought in as cover for Jake and Harry. CW has said very recently that Jake and Harry are the preferred CB partnership that they are intending to develop. Based on 5 mins against Bradford and an extremely gung-ho performance at Thame, I cannot see Jimmy starting tomorrow.

I think it's time for Worley to have a rest been playing alot of games and it showed on Saturday as he was awful. Both goals well defianetly one was his fault.

At 34, can Maclaren play twice in a week? And will he be ok after going off injured at Northampton?

At 34, can Maclaren play twice in a week? And will he be ok after going off injured at Northampton? He did look seriously injured at one point, but somehow managed to run it off, did seem to affect his game though. Looks like he can take it though, must of taken quite a few knocks in his time and would hope he knows his body and is honest enough to say if he's Ok to play.

Personally I'd drop the entire back four, 19 games without a clean sheet is reason enough to do that

We need to do something about the defence. 19-20 games without a clean sheet is simply unacceptable, or at least should be. I think we get caught short at the back especially on the break, as Batt and Tonkin are often miles up the pitch.
How about (for discussion - I am not a football manager!!)
Clarke
Batt - Wright - Worley - Sangare - Tonkin
Payne - Maclaren - Clist
Mclean - Constable
Enourage Batt and Tonkin to keep bombing forward, but now there's more cover. Encourage the more attacking midfielders (Payne and Clist) to shoot if they see a chance to. Sangare is supposed to be decent at corners (both attacking and defending). Five at the back would also mean that someone with a bit of vision such as Jake Wright could carry the ball forward without leaving a hole. It would also leave a strong attacking bench (from Craddock, Potter, Midson, Heslop, Hall) to come on with fresh legs if we needed to chase the game later on. I felt that the changes we made on Saturday didn't actually make much difference....

Didnt notice it said Jimmy - I just assumed it would be Worley! Worley has been doing well and it is important for him and Wright to get a partnership going, so it should remain unchanged.

Just checked it - this is an extract from the FA Handbook: (FTCM = First Team Competitive Match)
--------------------------------------------------
(a) CAUTIONS ADMINISTERED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY (i) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and 31 December (including any FTCM played on that day) in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: - One First Team Match (ii) If a Player accumulates five cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - “Warned as to his Future Conduct” (iii) A Player who has already been subject to disciplinary action as a result of receiving five cautions and then proceeds to receive a further five cautions during the same Season, will be subject to the following punishments: - (iv) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering:- Two First Team matches (v) If a Player accumulates ten cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - “Severely Censured and Warned as to his future Conduct” (vi) If a Player accumulates 15 cautions in FTCM between the opening date of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: - Three First Team matches
etc etc etc
---------------------------------------------------------------
So if Worley has 5 yellows then he will have been ' Warned as to his Future Conduct' but no suspension. If he gets to 10 before the second Sunday in April, then he will have a 2 match ban....
.... I think!!!

It will be same team i think. Maybe Hall being replaced. But Wilder likes playing players against one of their old clubs. With Hall playing for Shrewsbury couple years ago, he'll probably start

Amazed at any suggestion that Worley is rested, I believe he is getting better and whiel its fair to say we have not kept clean sheets I also think that its fair to say that Worley and Wright are our best pair at the moment by a mile
As for Clist, I am even more shocked at any suggestion of him being left out. The guy is very solid, rarelt gives the ball away and for me makes us tick
There is an argument for Payne for Hall but I am still not convinced
For me Saturdays side should remain the same for Tuesday

Not sure when he came on against Northampton, he didn't do alot. However if we can get Potter back that would give us another option off the bench.

From the radio it sounded like he did plenty. Anyone at the match got an opinion?
