You're right!! An incredible night at the Olympic Stadium!! Hannah Cockcroft, David Weir and Jonnie Peacock absolutely smashing their performances!!
It was also great to hear such young people talking so well and with obvious pride. Some of our 'top' footballers could learn a thing or two from these inspirational athletes!

If we are going to be honest, quite simply a lot of people are not as interested in watching the Paralympics because they are not so interested in watching people do things not so well however good the reason.

That sounds like discrimination. Funnily enough, they could do thinks a lot better than you, even with a disability. I was at the Olympic Park on Wednesday, and it was packed. Tv audiences are very good, and we have some very good athletes to be proud of. But don't let that get in the way of you discriminating against disabled people. Last night was truly awesome. The Swimming and Athletics provided more brilliant and exciting moments. I am definitly going to miss the Paralympics when they finish on Sunday. I'm so glad I will be in the stadium on Saturday night. ParalympicsGB have done us proud.

Let's raise the bar a bit against the previously mentioned Premier League footballers. Professional athletes at the top of their game. I'm not sure who the fastest in the Premier League - I heard Aaron Lennon and Theo Walcott awhile back who could cover 100m in about 10.8 seconds i.e. the same sort of time that Jonnie Peacock is capable of, and probably be beating i the next few years (he is only 19 after all).

The thing I love about the Paralympics is that children now have genuine role models. Kids see disabled athletes and people as the same as everyone else, and I think that's fantastic. I watch events now and don't even think that they have disabilities, I just enjoy it as much as the Olympics. I'm going to enjoy the last couple of days and make the most of it, as it will soon be over. I never thought the Paralympics would be so good.

Always thought the paralympics was a great thing for the athletes but as a sporting spectacle it never interested me much, but its been brilliant and with the huge amount of interest its really going to change attitudes to disabled people.
Off to the athletics tonight, can't wait

I love watching the Paralympics and think it is a great spectacle, but I do get confused sometimes with the various levels of impairment and whether an event is truly fair. I know they do adopt a system (LEXI I think), but does anyone else think this?
As an example, in last night's mens 100m T44, most of the runners required 1 blade but some required 2 blades. I guess they use PB's as a yardstick?

LEXI is Giles Long's invention to make it easier for fans to understand. The classifications themselves are arranged by the IPC and are less easily understood.

In the C4 production office in the IBC (the room the studios you see on tv are in) and my job is to log transmission. It's pretty much the most junior role here, but it's been a great experience for the future.

Sounds brilliant, and great experience. Doesn't matter what the role is, you are there being involved, which is cool.
I'm lucky enough to be going back tomorrow for the 2nd time. It's great to be a part of it

I've honestly not yet met somebody who has attended the Olympics or Paralympics and not loved their experience. It's been a special summer for this country.

This is a great story about former F1 driver Alex Zanardi who won the H4 handcycling gold today. He lost both his legs and very nearly lost life in a horrific motor-racing accident in 2001, and now he has a gold medal to his name at 45 years of age. Inspirational stuff. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/disability-sport/19493510The section I mentioned can be found here at 27:40. Alex Zanardi won his second gold medal today. I don't think I've seen a more inspirational character in this games. twitter.com/#!/search/zanardi%20last%20leg/slideshow/videos?url=http%3A%2F%2Fyoutube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DZFAXv1USWiQ

I think the Paralympics have been a great success. They've been highly competitive and as host country it's been like the Olympics all over again. Hopefully the paralympics will start to get a higher profile in places like the US now.

If I shared your opinion, I'd be embarrassed to voice it. 2.7 million bought tickets to actually attend and god know how many millions watched on tv. If you had one ounce of humility you'd admire the effort in the face of adversity and the courage having lost limbs or faculties these people are as the advert before the games described them - SUPERHUMANS. Shame on you!!!!

The Paralympics have been a massive success. I now have some new hero's, and have thoroughly enjoyed these games. Being in the Olympic Park and Stadium on Wednesday morning and last night, will stay with me forever. The atmosphere just walking around was just great, and inside the stadium, the noise and support for the Athletes was something special. The Polish high jumper last night became a hero with the crowd, that was so good, and he loved it.
The Volunteers have been amazing, they made it possible and made everyone smile. The Athletes have been an inspiration to all of us.
London 2012, both the Olympic and Paralympic games, have been incredible. I'm so proud.
Boy, I'm going to miss it.

Have to say, Channel 4 have had some pretty stupidly timed adverts, just before an award was made then the flag had been half lowered when they returned from one.

Have to say, Channel 4 have had some pretty stupidly timed adverts, just before an award was made then the flag had been half lowered when they returned from one. Sent from my HTC One X using proboards Channel 4 can only cover the paralympics with advertising revenue. They borrowed BBC personalities to do it. Never again. BBC are the free to air sports channel.

The reason C4 won the broadcasting bid is partly because they offered 100 hours more coverage than the BBC. I love the BBC's advert-free coverage, but they messed up hugely by underestimating the impact the Paralympics would have here. C4 gave all-day coverage and I'm delighted that the public enjoyed that they saw.
When bidding comes round again, the BBC won't make the same mistakes.

Other than the adverts, the Channel 4 coverage was excellent. At the start like everyone else, I thought it wasn't as good as the BBC. But once I gave it a chance, and stopped comparing it to the BBC, it turned out to be really good. They had a fair few disabled presenters and good guests. There were mistakes, but overall, I thought the coverage was great.
I didn't realise the BBC would have broadcast 100 hours less than Channel 4, so I'm glad we were able to watch so much of the Paralympics thanks to Channel 4.
