Ha, the penalty curse continues. Sturridge was an idiot for stopping. Typical Chelsea player

Almost glad, haven't bought into "football team GB" at all, when you look at how motivated all of the other athletes in the Olympics have been and how well they've done I've seen nothing inspiring from the footballers. I know it's for the clubs pre-season but they've looked lacklustre throughout, you would think it was pre-season friendlies they've been playing in.
I'd be delighted if they removed football from the Olympics. Even Andy Murray has managed to look excited to be there!

Well, will we see another Men's and/or Women's GB team in Brazil in 4 years time?

Why does Sturridge have to try to be the billy big bolloxs all the time with his fancy stuff.

Unlike our cyclists, swimmers, rowers and track and field athletes, the blokes representing Team GB football team, didn't care about the winning or the taking part, it being nothing more a preseason fitness thing for them. If Sturridge missed a penalty that cost Chelsea the Champions League, he'd care but this morning not sure he'll even remember.

In a way I'm glad they're knocked out. I don't want these overpaid, self-important, under-achieving primadonnas that have blighted our national game from taking away the limelight from the true stars of British sport.
Although they may not earn as much, Ennis, Farrah and Rutherford are a lot better role-models than the John Terry's and Cashley Cole's of this world.
Shame the women's team got knocked out, as they looked as though they were really up for it, where as the men's team were treating it as a pre-season friendly.
