Let's hope they don't go up eh? Given they're playing a team without access to a compliant ground, who therefore can't be promoted, I'd say they have a good chance!

If we accept this groundshare bollocks, I will personally go out to severely injure whoever is responsible.

If this groundshare ever did go ahead we would have to stage some sort of large-scale protest.
But how do they expect to play rugby with 3 stands anyway?

If they can guarantee that the pitch condition will not deteriorate with too many games, then I would welcome London Welsh with open arms. BRING IT ON, it's about time top-class rugby was brought to Oxford. You will then see a fantastic game played in a marvellous atmosphere.

If you want that you should have visited the Kassam on March 3rd.

This is one of my biggest worries. The presence of a rugby club at the ground must surely severely weaken our bargaining power with Firoz Kassam. No idea of London Welsh's financial position or long-term ambition, but what if they buy the stadium? There goes our hopes of owning the ground and with it any chance of ever gaining the resources to be a competitive Championship club.

Am I the only one that would welcome a rugby club coming to the Kas Stad?
It obviously has benefits for the Stadco in terms of twice the income with economies of scale working in their favour. You can share stewards, catering and utilities.
Then OUFC can make the most of this and work with the rugby club to demand better service from the Stadco. Also a corporate sponsor will be more inclined to purchase the stadium with two teams using the facilities more regularly.

Don't mind them playing in the off season. They can bugger off when we're back playing though.

The rent/service charges would be split between the two tennants surely !!, London Welsh wouldn`t be able to pay 450k , if they did Kassam be laughing ... this may be of benefit to oufc after all they pay for everything as it is

Anyone who has seen the lease remember if it was an exclusive deal? No, it's not exclusive. Stadco can, and always have been able to, get another tenant. We have certain rights of use, but certainly not any exclusivity.

One person, and one person alone, will benefit, and that's kassam (well maybe the Priory would benefit too).

The priory may benefit for a minimul time but the rent would go up to level where the hours increase to stupid levels to make it break even , more rent/more vat/ suppliers be happy but the tennant won`t , landlord holds all the aces, i am not bothered about staying with or without rugby the hours are enough as it is, at best i would get 2 years without an increase and thats only because the lease will be signed before any confirmation that lw will come to the stad

I have heard from an extremely reliable source that the deal to play at the Kassam will complete if they win promotion. I did mention last season that discussions were taking place with various Rugby teams around ground sharing.....

Let's get some things straight chaps, Firstly I'm no Kassam lover. 1- Rugby at the stadium was always in the plan, even back in the Robin Herd days 2- A number of Rugby clubs have been courted at the stadium for a number of years, right from the off. Remember we've hosted European Rugby finals here. 3-London Welsh fans don't like it. www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s691.htm?1370,13290128 4-Their average attendance is only around the 300 mark, they are dead in the water in London 5-Gillingham and Palace have both been trying to get them in 6-Even if we owned the ground, I'd imagine Rugby would be part of the plan 7-This has been on the cards for ages, Welsh, Wasps or even Irish. 8-Has Rugby been bad for Wycombe or Reading? 9-Improvements would need to be made to the facilities, paint job and a trim for TV 10-The chances of Oxford buying the ground increase IMHO. 11-They're only looking to move in if they win 2 legs and get promotion, asking a team to do that on a neutral and then an away ground is quite an ask. 12- I'd guess less than 2,000 would watch the Oxford leg, if that. OxVox or someone needs to find out about the deal 1- What's the clubs position on London Welsh Ground Share? 2- Would the club host rugby if we owned the ground? 3- How has Reading hosted Rugby and been able to play good football on it? 4-Will the club get a share of any revenue from any season long stand/pitchside advertising or sponsorship? 5-What improvements will be made to catering? 6-What improvements will be made to the facilities. Once we know these then we can decide what's what.
