So the top four have been selected, and a default contender comes through after a number of requests.
It will be interesting to see whether the default contender splits the Grenoble Road vote, and also where the votes go from those who previously voted for the now eliminated contenders.
Bottom two will be eliminated from this round. Voting closes in ten days time.

Glad to see the "Stadium" dropped from Minchery Farm and Grenoble Road Just don't think it's needed and it a bit of a modern thing to make the ground seem "big".

I had a horse racing board game called Totopoly when I was younger.....Priory Park was a yellow horse and never let me down. Plus I quite like the name too so it gets my vote.

I had Totopoly. For some reason I was addicted and used to play on my own against myself. But luckily never became a gambler.

With such a low number of voters, so far, the result is never going to reflect what the rest of the 7,000 + fans would have wanted. Plus alternative names that would have been sugested. No doubt the stats anoraks will prove otherwise.

It will if it's Minchery Farm or Grenoble Road. That's a statistical FACT!

It will if it's Minchery Farm or Grenoble Road. That's a statistical FACT! Does that mean that the vast majority of those 7,000 are boring, traditional, old farts or have I got my statistics mixed up?

I think you've hit the nail smack on the side of the head. Statistically there will be a mix of young and old traditional farts in there.

Interesting that there have been only about 40 votes on this. Surely there must be more people with an opinion?
Or are there only 40 odd people using this site and the rest are multis?

I'm not a multi, but my other account is. I voted for Grenoble Road. I was tempted by Minchery Farm but I thought it'd make us sound like a bunch of carrot crunchers.

Why would the votes be low if the other 'posters' are multis, as surely the 40 who have voted so far would just log on as their multis to up the vote for their choice.
I would think that quite a few haven't logged on the last couple of days and seen the thread... the number of posts to the site seem very low recently.
As for the boring names theory, nearly every ground in the country has a boring (traditional) name, and they only become less boring through the events that take place within them over time. What examples are there of 'exciting' names?

The 'boring' name (Grenoble Road) is the best.
Why? Well it is accurate, and permanent.
Name it after a sponsor, and eventually it will have to change (The Emirates, KitKat Crescent, B2Net etc). Give it a fancy name and you run the risk of looking daft (Stadium of Light - in Sunderland!!) The Isis would be OK if it was next to the Thames. It isn't. It simply isn't the New Manor. Doesn't look like it, doesn't feel like it. Difficult to think of the stadium being in a Park (surely that was St Albans!) or a Farm.

Good points zero
I still think the Isis is by far the best sounding name, but its good to hear a valid argument against it rather than "it sounds like its something to do with the uni"

Realistically we need to take into account a name which will work alongside a sponsor
for example The BMW New Manor
Just Grenoble Road ain't gonna work with a sponsor's name
Personally I can't understand the fascination with naming it after a road. My preference would be The Manor and then shove a sponsor in the between when we inevitably get one

Lincoln City's ground is named after a drain so we could call our ground the Sandford Sewage Works stadium. This also keeps the connection with it currently being named after a huge steaming turd.

Virgin Isis sound good to me. I thought she was shagged by her brother, so that doesn't sound right! (also seems like anything with Isis in the name is more suitable for somewhere the other end of the A420!)

Fair enough LJS if being part of a boring crowd makes you (and many others) happy but I would prefer a bit of imagination being used rather than just calling the ground after the road it is next to. However, I accept that the majority view should prevail even if it is boring.
