The Cherwell Boathouse off the Banbury Road is my favourite, very good chef and not too expensive.
Meze in Headington is also good (middle eastern vibe).
The best Thai food I have eaten anywhere is in the White Horse in Forest Hill, just off the dual carriageway to Wheatley.
All the others I would recommend have already been mentioned: Kazbar, Branca, Loch Fyne, Black Boy....

The worst Turkish food I have ever had is Bar Meze, try Bodrum Cowley road or Istanbul Cowley Road. The worst Thai food I have ever had is the White Horse Forest Hill try Angrids Thai Gloucester Green The worst Chinese food I have had is Eamayl Park End Street try My Sichuan in the Old School House Gloucester Green.

Avoid Chez Gerrard in George street. Had my worst ever dining experience there last year. They cremate Chateaubriand and charge a fortune for it (if you end up paying for it).
Lunch at Le Manoir Aux Quats Saisons is a great experience and not far from the ground. It is not as costly as some might think but it's not cheap. The cheese table is an amazing experience in itself and is worth the extra cost. Probably not a good choice if you are on a tight time schedule though.
I will try some of the other recommendations on this page when I am around Oxford.

Always used to like the chippie up near the Manor Smarts - act of vandalism knocking it down. Has it been demolished? I used to work a few doors down and piled on the pounds because of that place.
