As far as he knows a deal isn't close and no one should be setting their alarms for a Monday announcement.
Only his opinion, he added.
Can't believe that would be the case after the lack of news from the club and rumours of NDA's

His (Jerome) reading of the situation was that he believed talks are happening but no need to set your alarm clock on Monday morning as a deal may or may not happen anytime soon.

So, nobody is any the wiser! Ridiculous situation. Nobody is saying there is a deal, and likewise, nobody is saying that there isn't a deal. (which probably means that there are talks about a deal?)

Both had good games. Williamson very determined to win the aerial battle.

Probably the most 1-1 match you could ever see.
Also probably the slowest 11 we’ve ever fielded. We need some bloody pace in the team!
Another well taken goal from Wes.
Defence looked a bit shakey today. Williamson looked like he was carrying a knock - still better than Martin though.
Overall a decent enough point at a ground we famously don’t do well at.

Next league game up against Doncaster is a big one, no home win for two months and this is one of the more winnable ones on paper, certainly better odds than the Wigan game at home that follows it. This (unlikely) point away at Southend will look even better with a win after it, even with a two week delay.

Don't think that's right, Jon. It's going to take a heck of a run to threaten the play-offs, whether periodically or otherwise. We are 7 points off 5th and 6th and those two teams have two games in hand. So effectively 10 points off. I think that for now the fockus, so to speak, needs to be on getting past 50 points in fewer than 40 games. That's 24 points from the next 20 games, which is about the rate at which we have accumulated points during September, October and November. That's not saying that we are in trouble right now. We are not. But the table below us is very, very tight and we are going to want to pick up 2 or 3 wins by January if we are to avoid getting into bottom eight territory. We are 7 points off the play offs. If we were in this position and had 3 games in hand on 5th and 6th we wouldn't effectively be 4th. Stop spinning. It is not 'spinning' to give my opinion, any more than it is spinning to give your rather silly view that games in hand are irrelevant (as if somehow, by magic, at the end of the season the League will have allowed us to have played 46 games to blackburn's 44. So the data sensible thing to do is assume that clubs will collect the same number of points per game as they have to date. But if you want to pretend otherwise, then that is your choice. Perhaps if you shut your eyes long enough you can dream the rest of the season.

Because it's obvious we just can't understand the actual table.

Perhaps if you shut your eyes long enough you can dream the rest of the season. Well the data sensible thing isn't quite reality is it? We could win the next three, lose the next three, draw the next three. The same as anyone in the league. Games in hand are not irrelevant but it doesn't change your league placing. If we had 5 games left and we were fighting for relegation or promotion everyone would be considering games in hand teams had. Any game is never a given at this level. So I stick to the facts which is our league position is our league position this evening.

We are definitely 9pts off the play-offs at this moment. Bradford are the current target as they have 36 from same games played. It is not data sensible to assume the teams with games in hand will collect points at current rate. This Tuesday Posh play Charlton which equates to 1.5 ppg v 1.9 ppg there aren't 3.4 points available, similar with Blackpool v Blackburn.

Well I thought that was an entertaining game of football. Shots off the bar, offside goals, shots miles over the bar. Perhaps the signs of two teams that aren’t very good. But it was a relief to finish 1-1. First half I was calling for the whistle at the end of the added time when Southend were attacking and yet the red still found time for us to get up the other end and threaten.
Good pre match post match in blue boar too , and nice fish and chips from the chippy opposite. (And no I don’t think Wilder has taken up alternative employment).

Simples We are 7 pts from 6th but that can change on Tuesday. If Blackburn and Charlton win then Bradford will be 6th. If they both lose the status quo is maintained but they both have another chance to leapfrog Bradford! As I said we are DEFINITELY 9 points off as Bradford have no games in hand. Even more simples!

Perhaps if you shut your eyes long enough you can dream the rest of the season. Surely if you are going to use that argument then you need to be consistent? As it stands we need to exceed 46 points across the season to avoid relegation so that is 20 points from 26 games. If we maintain our season form we will end up with 62 points which could mean 16 points ahead of the relegation places! Not quite as bad as you are suggesting with a fair margin for error. However, if we wish to get into the play offs, based on Blackburn and Charlton's current average, then we will need 88 points so 61 points from 26 games which is not impossible but pretty unlikely. We need to aim for a significant uplift in form then we will not have to worry about relegation and maybe put pressure on those above us. There is a long way to go but at the moment neither relegation nor promotion look likely.

Good performance, though occasionally risky at the back. If we could shoot more consistently, we could have won. All our midfielders had real opportunities, but a draw was fair enough. Good entertaining game. Really? I thought it was a poor game by us, and we were lucky to get a draw. The game seemed to just pass by e.g. like when you're driving a car on auto pilot and arrive at your destination not really remembering most of the journey. I don't remember their keeper having to make any saves of note, and we didn't have a corner all game. It felt to me as if we just went through the motions with the objective being that we didn't lose, and with no pace at all. I'm not a fan of Henry (just frustrates me with his lack of desire, pace and complacency), so add to that, Mowatt and Ruffels and you haven't got a creative bone between them. Our midfield yesterday was virtually non existent. Glad we got a point which I felt was the only really positive from yesterday.
