A tough prospect awaits us on Tuesday under the lights when we face Blackburn, is it the right time to play them? with the team full of confidence after Saturday's thumping we gave to Argyle it could well be! Blackburn will be full of confidence coming into this game aswell though, so we'll have to be at the top of our game to beat them tomorrow night, no doubt about that. Last 5 gamesBLACKBURN: DWDDW OXFORD: DDLLW Despite our poor run of form and Blackburn's good run of form they sit 2 points ahead of us with 2 games in hand. So they are very much promotion contenders and with their games in hand they could continue to rise, they are without a loss since 14th October which came at the hands of Oldham Athletic, which is one of only 4 losses they have had this season so far. Predicted Line upEastwood Tiendalli Martin Mousinho Ricardinho Ledson Ruffels Henry Payne Rothwell Thomas Would stick with the same lineup that started against Argyle one change for me would be Obika in for Thomas, to try and keep him fit and stop him from tiring after playing in every game this month, apart from the CAT Trophy game in which he was on the bench for. Thomas is top scorer though so would like him to start, especially if Rothwell starts because of Rothwell's tendency to shoot low could work in Thomas' favour as it did against Argyle. This is a real test for Martin and Tiendalli, they were solid against Argyle now they have to play for the shirt against a good attack with the likes of Dominic Samuel, Bradley Dack and Danny Graham. Martin especially, hopefully Mousinho can help him threw the game and he has a tidy one as i want to see him succeeded, but his chances are numbered, if he doesn't perform in the next 2 weeks Williamson will jump right into his place. twitter.com/DavePritchard83Looking at this statistical graph that Dave Pritchard has constructed Rothwell should be one of the first players on the team sheet with 50% win ratio when starting. PredictionTough tight game with neither team edging the game and coming out on top. 1-1 Henry goalscorer. Attendance: 7200 with an away following of 800. Blackburn have had the best away following this season, which may not be that surprising considering a lot of teams are within a 30-50 mile radius of them.

Surely yellowriver has to start the match thread? Never heard of winner stays on?

I've been away and haven't seen Tiendalli play in a competitive match yet, I'm looking forward to making an assessment tomorrow. It was good to see both him and Ricardinho appearing further up the pitch in the Plymouth highlights, I expect they'll be under much more pressure against Blackburn though.
It's going to be a really tough one tomorrow, a point might be a decent return.

Who would everyone like to see partner Mousinho assuming Martin and Williamson both available. Williamson was fit enough for the bench Saturday so I assume he can't be far off.

Surely yellowriver has to start the match thread? Never heard of winner stays on? Oh dear! The Forum Gods will not be happy. Only way to rectify the situation is the sacrificial banning of certain posters. Ok who's dispensable?

Should be a very competitive and entertaining match, they will be full of confidence -unbeaten in five FL matches? While U's fans will be praying that the excellent result at Plymouth was a turning point in the positive sense and the Yellows put in a shift and get another great result. Expecting a really tough game, but I am actually looking forward to it. Not in the expectation of a win (although I hope so!) but it's nice to have a club with a bit of pedigree here and I just hope the U's can turn it on.

Think most of us would be happy with a point but can't see us keeping a clean sheet. Back four has an average age of 31, and with the limited options we have at the moment, I think this game will give an indication of how fit they all are, and whether they'll struggle as the season goes on.
Eastwood Tiendelli Martin Mous Ricardinho Ruffels Ledson Henry Payne Rothwell Thomas
1-1, Wes poaching one late on.

Also heard an interesting one on Williamson..
Apparently he's not been training the last week or 2.. Let's hope it doesn't prevent him from contributing fully.

Plymouth allowed United time and space to play their own game. Something very few teams have done so far this season. I expect Blackburn to push hard and try to knock United out of their stride. So far this season this tactic has worked and United have struggled. Let's hope it doesn't work tomorrow night. If it does then the best we can hope for is a 0-0 draw.
But we live in hope!!!!!!

Won’t be an easy game and if I’m honest would accept a draw if not a win. They are an inform team but so we’re Plymuff so anything is possible.

It will be interesting to see if Blackburn try and stop Oxford or simply think that they are better than us. I suspect that they will attack and it could be a pretty open game.

Speaking to a Blackburn supporting work colleague, he reckons they are likely to try and keep it tight whilst relying on a bit of magic from Dack.

Plymouth was the first time this season I predicted we will lose and we won 4-0, so for no other reason than not wanting to change a winning formula, I'll opt for us to lose again. 1-2 Payne with our goal.

Rovers are out-battled, out-played and out-thought by a rampaging Oxford side.
2-0 Oxford (should've been at least 4) Payne, Henry.
Come 9.45pm we are in a play-off position and the leagues top goal scorers.
Caller to RadOx bemoans the lack of a 20 goal a season striker and refers to Daryl Eales as Pinocchio.

My first Oxford league game was Blackburn at home back in January 1990, a one all draw with Dave Penny equalising after Simon Garner put them in the lead, so if just for that reason alone I am looking forward to tonight. First league game against them for 25 years, after Jack Walker sent them one way and uncle Firoz sent us another, although obviously we played them in the cup not that long ago.
God knows about the score, we are so unpredictable, you probably have to fancy them as they are above after playing two less games, but if we can keep it tight early we could grow into the game and then who knows, maybe we can knick a win, we are certainly due one at home.

I still haven't got over the trauma of being spanked by Blackburn after we had knocked Swansea out of the cup. Was that really only 661 days ago? I'm not counting.
It's a big ask to get a result tonight, but I honestly believe we can do it.
2-1.
Team the same as against Plimuff.
