For instance a takeover by a company with any EU listing ... Take for instance Charoen Pok Food (an example of a Thai company). It trades 25 million shares per day on the Thailand stock exchange, but also has a listing in Germany where it trades 376 shares per day. If you had inside information on this company, that tiny listing in the EU means that information is covered by the European regulations. Perhaps err on the side of caution, rather than go to prison for 7 years? This would be on the assumption that the party seeking to takeover OUFC is a publicly-listed entity. And even if that were the case, I don't think that would stop OxVox from saying something along the lines of "We are aware of an interested party with whom we have had discussions. However, we are unable at present to disclose details of those discussions as they would be covered by insider trading legislation", or something like that. Also, would the companies involved not actually be in breach by disclosing the information to OxVox?

Also, would the companies involved not actually be in breach by disclosing the information to OxVox? Lets says Oxvox were "brought inside" (allowed), so informed that they were receiving inside information, so in the same way that a solicitor or auditor or legal advisor might be involved in a takeover and be told inside information. Perhaps it is or isn't inside information depending on whether there are listed companies involved, but it would seem a genuine reason why there has been no comment. If you were being cynical, you might say that bringing them inside (if that's what has happened) actually prevents them from commenting?

If you were being cynical, you might say that bringing them inside (if that's what has happened) actually prevents them from commenting? Well, quite. This is what concerns me. If the OxVox committee have got themselves into a position where they are unable to comment, then IMHO that is incompatible with the aims of a supporters trust. If a prospective purchaser told them "I'm going to slash the wage bill, put up ticket prices, and move the club to Witney", what would they do? Keep quiet until a deal has gone through? The trust rules require them to operate "democratically, fairly, sustainably, transparently and with financial responsibility". Failing to confirm or deny that a meeting has even taken place doesn't seem particularly transparent.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but ur not opposed to Oxvox meeting new owners! In fact u said it was good they did meet Juan sartori. Ur issue is they have yet to inform members. So like with the rtb, so long as members are informed at some point, which I would guess is once any takeover goes through what does it matter? I’m sure if they were against anything that did come out of a meeting , IF one took place then they would have spoken out.

Well if a takeover is imminent in a few days, and they don’t feel that anything they have to say is important does it matter if they let it be announced and then release a statement saying we were informed of the plan and felt there was nothing concerning. They were voted in to act on our behalf, we don’t ask for detailed info of every meeting that our mp’s have but they inform us when there is something to say

Well they haven’t said if they have had a meeting about setting up the ultras area either. Again does it matter.
While ur hear, could u give Charles a ring he seems to have gone a bit quiet on jems offer of an open meeting. One they have informed us about in advance

Well they haven’t said if they have had a meeting about setting up the ultras area either. Again does it matter. Er, yeah they have. And are you honestly asking "does it matter" if a supporters trust has had meetings with a potential new owner and then refused to disclose if those meetings have even happened?!

There’s a big difference between refusing to disclose, and judging the best time to do so. So are u coming to this meeting on the stadium? Still no answer

I'd much rather OxVox kept any confidentiality clause quiet, even if, as it appears some (Presumably members) are unhappy at what is presently speculation. What matters more, OxVox using their judgement on this issue despite a few individuals pressure on them to disclose any info on the matter, or, potentially safe guarding any info they have for what could be a very significant time in the history of OUFC??

It wouldn't have mattered if I was for or against it - I had no choice, because the first time anybody knew anything about it was the press conference.

They way that is phrased suggests you see that as a bad thing. Anyway, offered without further comment, here are some quotes from this forum aimed in the direction of Oxvox:

Simple really I’d like an answer to the question What question? Really? Do u agree that a meeting to sort the stadium/WE once and for all is a good idea. And that u will attend. Then we can put that one to bed and agree as a fan base what’s possible and what isn’t

Now as I’m sure u will agree it’s probably the biggest issue the club faces, I’m bloody keen to see it happen. I wanna know who’s correct .And can’t work out why WE’s biggest champions do not want to get around a table and prove to everyone they were in fact right and Oxvox have massively cocked up. I’m not against WE just have never thought it realistic. Bring the emails, convince me, I’ll sign up to team methven there and then.

You have no interest in looking at the detail of anything to do with the future of the club. You have become convinced that I am BAD AND WRONG about everything and that Jem is GREAT RIGHT AND ABOVE QUESTIONING. So your hope for that supposed 'open' meeting is that your personality judgement is proven correct. And you, together with a dozen others, will try everything you can to make that happen. When buying the Kassam was still (apparently) a likely option, Darryl asked for an Open Meeting on the subject. You said that you did not think that a good idea, because of confidentialities. Yet on WE you want chapter and verse to be revealed including confidential information. Why the difference? Because you have no sincere interest in the success of the club in finding a new site. You only want to 'win' pathetic ego battles and point fingers. That this has become the preferred point of view of a minority of committed OUFC fans is really sad. And shameful. For a forum troll this is par for the course and not a problem. That the leadership of Oxvox has no interest in pursuing seriously all options and wants to prioritise whitewashing their failed attempt at Grenoble Road is more worrisome.

That the leadership of Oxvox has no interest in pursuing seriously all options and wants to prioritise whitewashing their failed attempt at Grenoble Road is more worrisome. Totally totally wrong. I have said all along I’d be delighted if we can get a brand new stadium built with fans in mind, but have also said all along that I don’t think it’s doable. Yet again u call me a troll, Oxvox as having no interest in doing their duty and whitewashing. I said I don’t think the meeting at the time was a good idea as it looked like Oxvox were on the verge of agreeing a community deal with firoz ( u remember , the one that got put on hold because of sartori) That option is now gone and there is a serious chance to all pull together and agree on what direction to move in. I don’t hope to be proven right, im not the one claiming anything is the better option. I have no info either way just opinion. You however have banged on for years that this is the best deal, u have called Oxvox inept and committing a dereliction of duty. U have evidence (supposedly) that proves all this. So why don’t u put ur f*cking massive ego to one side, and come out and prove everyone else wrong. Prove Jem is a liar, embarrass him, prove my opinion counts for nothing. Or just sit on ur arse, cuddling a letter from farmer Stan saying he would happily sell u his land, abusing everyone and having no interest in helping ur club one little bit !
