As fans we don't expect him to come out and tell us anything regarding a takeover. What would be nice is a little more pro-activity from him. To start it was all guns blazing, free food and drink aka, I'm of you. Who can forget the heady days of Carlisle, & 725 mile round trip but worth it. Move forward to more recent times, to little communication, missing program notes, numerous hollow soundbites, and finally sharing the directors box with a probable takeover candidate.
Where have the fans days gone, marketing opportunities missed. Season ticket holders bring a friend for £10? Support for the Ultra's, rather than allowing whoever the dictator was last season that decided to mess them about during the game? Stewards brought in from Swindon?
Appleton went, a fantastic opportunity missed as the summer went on, more players sold, Johnston goes, compensation, millions made. I cannot believe the "recruitment" dept lined up so many crocks as first choice players to be brought in.
Around a third of the season passed, and what people feared has happened, many of those players have spent a lot of time out, with Pakalski not even seen. What was that signing all about?
Things are happening behind the scene, without doubt. The club needs consistency not only in approach from its owner, but to stick to what he says he intends to do. Unless the recruitment situation is resolved in January and 3/4 quality players are brought in then it might not be the mid table some seem to think we are consigned to this season, it could easily become a relegation battle.
Last nights display was quite frankly embarrassing. Forget the drubbing from Cambridge. Its the same football that means opposition managers don't need to send scouts to, to find out how we play:
Tippy tappy across the back....move forward 20 yards....play crab football sideways....then either a long ball to Thomas, who feigns a jump, looking where the ball lands....OR....crab football up to the midfield until one of the nasty opposition players tackles us and we lose the ball....they run at us, we back peddle....3 of them onto 1 of us, Eastwood flaps....goal....

We really need to get some answers soon, really is disappointing that Eales seems to have completely abandoned his original plan and has turned to not really giving a toss. I don't know if it has anything to do with failing to secure the stadium but things need to change and fast else what you say will be true and come may we will be well and truly fucked.

Johnston (sic) and Pakalski (Sic). I lose interest when fans repeatedly misspell the names of players.

Both goals were crosses into the box which the defenders should of dealt with. Not 3 on 1's like you describe? Also if the opposition sit deep with 2 banks of 4 like Vale did then the best way to bring them out and try to get in behind is by continually passing it across the pitch side ways. Unfortunately they just sat deep and we didn't pass the ball with enough urgency. We then went for the other option of going long but Thomas had a poor game and struggled to make the right runs or hold it up. On Eales's position of the club it is still the same as it was when we won 3 in a row. I always wonder why the owner always gets questioned after a few defeats but never praised after a few wins?

I initially felt eales had, through pep, put together a side capable of promotion. Others said crocs and unkowns had been bought. Unfortunately I was wrong.
On the subject of Thomas, I was referring more to the Fleetwood game, and previous games to that. You may well be right when you say playing it sideways against two banks of 4 is the right thing to do, that's not the way we play it though. It's crab football, until the tippy tappy kicks in if we get anywhere near the oppositions penalty area. Tippy tappy with no one prepared to shoot. Hence the desperate need for at least one striker.
Hopefully pep will have seen how well 442 worked for PV, and may try it on Saturday, unlikely though.

I’d say it’s in the best interests of the football club for a bid to be sorted sooner rather than later. Just as Appleton and several players were unsettled and moved on, so it seems that potentially Nelson was rested so no cup tied and also the club seems to be quite slow in filling important executive positions - I guess leaving the decks clear for a new owner.

Wiggy, not sure that the stats bear out your analysis of a dominating performance by us with a canny limited opponent sitting deep and parking the bus. According to the figures I have in front of me they had EIGHT shots on target to our TWO. Strange kind of game when all the opposition do is 'sit deep ' but still manage 8 shots on target! Crikey, if that tactic were so wonderfully straightforward presumably the 'better ' side would never be able to win. Man City would struggle every week. If you are going to be as hyperbolic as you always are when we win a game you need to pay some objectivity when we lose. In two Cup competitions we have been deservedly beaten by two candidates for relegation to the Conference. That is the kind of embarrassing rubbish that Wilder and Appleton got us away from. Best that everyone at OUFC fronts up to the embarrassment rather than brushing it under the carpet with nonsense. Not that a crap performance like that should be blamed on the owner, either. I can agree with you there...

I can agree with you there... That would be the Wilder that played dull boring negative football especially at home where your bread and butter customers are..The same Wilder that against a struggling Pompey side bigged them up so much pre match then proceeded to set us up to play the "Name" not to get beaten. i will say though that if Pep did indeed rest Nelson then you have to question his decision, whilst hindsight is a wonderful thing an away game against a lower league side who are bound to raise their game had all the potential of a banana skin...Then you have to say rested him for what exactly? the auto promotion places are long gone over the horizon which leaves the lottery of the play offs and you certainly could not be confident as things stand that we are capable of beating those sides in and around us over 2 games. The club have lost much needed revenue and not just from a cup run but also from floaters and potential new fans as the season looks over and it's only early November.

No one can deny the op has a point albeit not in the most eloquent of ways.
Eales did come in a profess to be the fans chairman and waned the best for the club. The time MApp was here was great. Filled with more highs than lows and was arguably the best times a lot of us have had a Oxford fans. I think a lot will argue that Ashton did a lot of the work to turn the club around and Eales continued the hard work. About the time the whole flag gate thing started happening things started to go downhill. High positions stared to be vacated with no replacements in sight, money wasn’t being spent and our manager left. Every since MApp went the togetherness at the club seems to have disappeared. We all seemed to be one big unit and now there’s very little from the club to fans.
• Some of the players Clotet has brought in have been questionable. •Foreign investors/potential new owners have been seen at several games with no clear black and white explanation. • Our Head Scout has left with no foreseeable replacement. • Communication has practically stopped. • Acquiring the stadium has stalled (arguably down to OxVox rather than the club)
What’s happening? Is PSY taking over the club? Is he investing? Are we going to get a replacement head scout? Are we going to get a replacement Managing Director? Will we ever find out who killed JR?
All seems a bit odd to me. However on a positive note we do have a cryo chamber and Ricardinho. If he suddenly passes away (which I hope he doesn’t) we can sack off using it for treating injuries and freeze him. Wait until technology progresses. Take off 10 years from him and get him back in his prime. Granted most of us will be brown bread ourselves, but we will have one hell of a player at our club!

Eales will go / sell up when his terms are met. And only then. It's vey much in his court.
The only bit that's getting annoying to all concerned is the constant changing of the % that he wants.
Sad really, as he is potentially undoing alot of the good work he has done the last couple of years.
Soon see though...

• Acquiring the stadium has stalled (arguably down to OxVox rather than the club) I thought your post was quite reasonable until the stupid comment above. Go one then, explain away, please inform the forum how the stadium stalled because of OxVox....... FWIW, the stadium deal stalled for a number of reasons including the football club being 'FOR SALE' and as a result the landlord didn't want to commit to a deal whilst the ownership situation was in the 'air' and has EVER since. God forbid, should the ownership situation be resolved, OXVOX and FK might be able to continue the productive work we got to during the early stages of 2017.

It only Keyboard supporters that worry about these things and thankfully they are in the minority.
Pull your self together man, put your yellow shirt on and come along to tonight's game. Under the lights on a cold night, cup of Bovril, steak pie, slippy pitch lots of mistakes and lots of goals... just hope we score more than them.
