Nelson started it with that stupid decision to let the ball bounce. Eastwood is not the main culprit, just the last one and therefore the one everyone will remember. Yep. Without wanting to start a witch hunt against Nelson, it was his error. Eastwood doesn't cover himself in glory but Nelson put him in that situation, and looking at his reaction afterwards he knew he did.

End of the day, Eastwood has to try to salvage it and when he realises he won't get there first he HAS to get out of the way so as to not get sent off. I don't actually think he did much wrong.

Did well to come back after a poor start and a poor goal to give away, to say our goal was against the run of play would be an understatement, both sides had real chances to win it but feel we were the better side second half, 2 good, entertaining games in 4 days though with 4 points so pretty pleased overall, lets get a win Saturday to keep the momentum going
Also that Fosu lad was class

A good game of football with two good teams playing football.
There were some very good performances throughout the whole team. Charlton look pretty likely to be up there at the end of the season.
Well done Ribeiro for a cracking goal on his wrong foot.
As somebody suggested it just didn't fall for Payne/ Thomas today or we could have won. Thomas looks a much better player than at the start of the season. His hold up play seems to have improved. Really useful having Obika to give a different problem to the opposition as well.

Thought that was a brilliant game. Two teams that wanted to play football the right way, and lots of good quality players.
Charloton started much brighter, and could have found themselves more than one goal ahead had their finishing been a little better. The one they did stick away came from a very poor bit of defending from Nelson. Eastwood perhaps made the wrong decision, but he gets them right 99% of the time. Unfortunately for him, the one he got wrong was punished.
Thankfully we grew back into the game and deservedly - in my opinion - got a goal back. We almost scored again straight away after the restart from a good Josh Ruffels effort. Not long after Ricardinho had a goal bound shot cleared off the line.
The rest of the match saw both teams going close on a couple of occasions. What was noticeable from our point of view was the lack of options on the bench. By the time 70 minutes had elapsed, Mowatt and Thomas were both blowing, but there wasn't much for Clotet to choose from when he looked to his left.
It was a good point overall, though. Charlton are a good side with some decent players. Their following was slightly disappointing, thought they'd bring more.
In terms of individual performances, I thought Ledson, Payne and Thomas were our best players on the day. Ledson worked unbelievably tirelessly, and continued to press well in spite of the fact he was given a harsh yellow by the ref for what was his first tackle. Payne found gaps between their defence and midfield time and time again, he's such a clever play with brilliant footwork. Thomas was brilliant once again. Fantastic hold up play, looked dangerous, worked hard. Long may it continue.

Good game. I think a draw was a fair result, though if Charlton were more clinical, they could have scored at least one more; that 'air shot' early on was a terrible miss. But as soon as they scored we came into it and were the better team in the second half in my opinion. Played some nice football.
A few points of contention: 1) short corners. They drive me mad and are often wasted. 2) switching the play so often. It slows down the flow of the attack as well as giving their defence chance to organise at the same time. A fair few times we lost the ball when the receiving player was trying to bring the ball down.
Feeling good about the weekend - bring on Rotherham.

Just looking at other scores around league one, Wimbledon 3 Rotherham 1 just shows these random defeats happen to all teams. Wimbledon were absolutely awful against us and never once looked like scoring. Our defeats like the one at bury will happen every now and then. The way we bounced back from those few results has been so encouraging and I'm really looking forward to seeing how we get on this year. More than holding our own so far. COYY

A tough game 2 quality teams playing football, Everyone makes a mistake its life but Fosu is not the one you want nearby when a mistake happens Nelson/Eastwood both have done really well for the club in their time at the club so it happened we move on. I was worried about Ribs with Fosu attacking and I did feel he was struggling against him BOOM he scores the equaliser.
End to end stuff a game played at a very fast pace a very good advert for L1 football, 2 points dropped or a very good draw with 2 teams playing quality football I think the latter.
Oh and the scum lost so all in all a deserved point and a nice little gloat. COYY.
I forgot to add having had a chat with my neighbour who is a recently widowed pensioner and a S/T holder for the scum, She said to me that she hoped Breakspear wouldn't be at their match tonight I asked who was that she said a terrible referee ( she don't swear) we had him instead and he was f*cking awful.

The last one Payne whipped in was quite low - roughly waist height I believe - and it seemed to cause them real trouble. The problem with our short corners is that they seem so unprepared. They pass short and it's anyone's guess what will happen next. It just looks muddled, if you like. Need more practice.

There was one example in the second half when we conceded a throw-in from a sloppy short corner which was rushed. Aside from that I’m usually pleased we play it short as it means we retain possession, don’t risk being countered and have technically skilled players who can create better positions to get into the box. I’m in the minority I know!

Thomas was probably my motm, he's been so good recently, works so hard and creates chances for himself, massive turnaround for him from last season, would give it to him or Ledson

Missed the first half but the second half was really absorbing stuff. 2 very good teams playing football fairly. Good point against a strong team. Shame the second last kick of the game didn't Creep under the bar mind. How close was that shot from Richardinho? My goodness he strikes a good ball. Enjoyed the game tonight - two good teams playing the game the right way. We could have nicked it with a bit more quality; Charlton could have nicked it also. A good point. We look to be 1,000 down on the gate which is a concern however.

A fair result, and both teams will probably feel they could have won it. A very enjoyable game that had a surprising number of cards considering it was never going to be a dirty match, the ref seemed to book our players for trivial 'offences' and yet let more robust and aggressive tackles by them go unpunished.
Roll on Saturday and hopefully more of the same, and hopefully three points.
A disappointing attendance of just over 7,000.

Trying to stop the guy scoring after Nelson gifted their attacker the ball. Clearly Nelson made the initial error. But Eastwood slides past the forward with his hands in the air like he's on some water slide and makes no attempt to get the ball. Not wanting to get sent off I guess.

What Karl Robinson has said after the game.
“Oxford have an outstanding team at this level. I thought we were the better team, they might say different. We had six or seven really good chances - chances we normally take. “We looked as fluid and as classy as I’ve seen us this season against one of the best teams - away from home.

If someone had told me we would have taken maximum points off Peterborough, Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers and taken a draw against Charlton, I would have bitten their hand off.. a great run.
Keep it up

Loved Ribs interview on RadOx just then. He spoke really well and sounds very positive about the team. What a top bloke. He sounded like he was really buzzing. Great to hear his enthusiasm about the whole set-up When he was interviewed during his rehab and getting back in the team again, he’s always been really positive and articulate. Sort your hair out though. No one wants to see that.

Please please please stop with the short corners though. I said something similar to my mate, but he pointed out that their centre backs were f**king massive. They were massive, but they were shakey as f*ck. I get the stats say it better to retain possession, but we don’t, it’s two touches and we give it away. Same with free kicks. Henry whipped in one of the best free kicks I’ve seen from is in ages, yet not one of our players contested it. And it’s so simple but we never do it, have a player go long round the back, so that if it over hit or missed someone’s coming in to pick up the lose ball, useful for attacking but also defensive purposes, as we get hit on the break from that situation so often

High quality match. Thought Charlton were an extremely pacy side who stretched us significantly but their finishing was totally woeful.
Both top 6 on that showing. We sometimes could do with more attackers in penalty area when we break.
Hats off to Mousinho and Thomas but a very sound team performance.
Xemi looked lost when he came on, we missed Hall’s pace.
Another modest crowd. Where are the Oxfordshire public? This is a splendid side who are a step up from 16/17 version.

This is a splendid side who are a step up from 16/17 version. We were having a debate last night - comparing and contrasting 2016-17 team to the current version. How good is this team? Can’t really say we’re missing Dunkley, Skarz, Edwards, Sercombe, Hemmings any maybe even Lunny! Add Marvin Johnson’s pace out wide left and I reckon we win the game last night. Maguire is the interesting one - technically excellent but a bit of a paradox as to where to play him. What was Mags like in the dressing room? McAleny was good and I would have loved to have kept him. A different type of front player - shooting early with power and accuracy. I actually think last night’s team maybe better than Appleton’s. Appleton’s team was of course more developed and a bit more self confident. This team could achieve more - who knows !
