Can the U's carry on from where they left off at Bristol and make it four wins on the trot? Short answer, yes, of course! But no doubt they will have to be at their best against a strong Charlton team, perhaps Pep can be as animated as he was at Brizzle, and help motivate the home support?!
Should be an exciting and fast match, and I wouldn't bet against the U's winning this one.
Yellows 2 Charlton 0. Att: 7,869.

Would have gone for 8-0 had I started the thread, but I'll say 1-0 (Henry)

Some might not agree but I think the next two home games will define our season.
Hoping for a win tomorrow of course but Charlton have a very strong attacking midfield, in fact they only have two recognised forwards in the first team squad.
I think our midfield will have to be well on their game tomorrow and I can see this being a very close game.
Its always difficult for a player to enthuse themselves for a Tuesday night game after a hard Saturday but hopefully all the extra training the lads have been putting in recently will pay dividends and we will grind out a result. 2-1
I think Hall might come back into the side and also Carroll at RB..Ribs appeared to take knock late on, on Saturday and appeared to be a bit lame.
The Millers on Saturday will be equally tough but we should win our home games and we are the Form team ( or one of them) in the division at the moment. 2-0

Some might not agree but I think the next two home games will define our season. I think you could be right, because then we're into the likes of Northampton and Plymouth, so there's a real chance to build up some significant points if we can keep this run going. Shame to lose Rothwell at this moment in time, but Hall will hopefully be very hungry.

It's worrying that the first thing I thought when I clicked on the thread was "i hope Gingerox has started this" and to my horror I saw he hadn't. Season over.

We've tended to keep things tight before scoring in the second half but I can see the opposite tomorrow with an early goal or two before hopefully seeing the game out.
Goals can literally come from anywhere but Payne is long overdue a bit of luck plus Thomas keeping up his decent run in a steady 2 nil win.

I disagree with bringing ball back in. The big big reason why we have been successful recently has been due to the fact we’ve put one extra body in the centre of midfield. Rothwell hasn’t been playing wide left but just tucked in. Bringing Hall in just goes back to our old problems in my opinion, especially against Charlton who have a very strong midfield. Potentially play hall further forward and drop Payne back, maybe xemi gets a start. Depending on how the game pans out I wouldn’t be too disappointed with a draw here after winning the last 3. COYY

COYY Arguably we got lucky when Hall was injured as up until then we had tried to accommodate him and Payne into the side, both with a free role in effect. They were our 2 best players, and had pulled teams apart but others quickly cottoned on to the fact that overloading midfield would kill our game.

Very tough game and one we'll have to be very good to get anything from.
Thankfully the win at Rovers takes the pressure off so a draw wouldn't be a disaster.
Hopefully we can get another win but it will be tough, they're much improved formats season.

Tough game this and a win would be lovely, not a great recent record against Charlton, so let's break that.
Two tough home games and then Fleetwood away (have we ever beaten them?),

I'm a big Hall fan but reckon it would be best to keep him on the bench tonight and play Mowatt instead of Rothwell. Definitely do not want to switch Henry back to the left to accommodate Hall IMO.

Tough game this and a win would be lovely, not a great recent record against Charlton, so let's break that. We took four points off Charlton last season and before that we hadn't played them in god knows how many years. I think the last time we played them prior to that was probably the cup game at the Valley where we won on penalties. So actually, of the three games we've played Charlton this century, we've won two and drawn the other one. Nowt wrong with our form v them.

We played them in the cup at the Valley in 2014 and drew 2-2 after going 2-0 up, then lost the replay, as far as I can remember. Also checking, we apparently got thrashed 4-0 in the league cup in 2013 - have no memory of this game at all. But no reason we should fear them, I agree.

As long as Clive Mendonca doesn't play we'll be fine...he ALWAYS seemed to score against us. 1-0, though we'll miss Rothwell. Now we're in the groove I hope we don't try to reinvent the wheel with tactics and line-ups.
