Peterborough 4 Oxford 1 Pep will say that he was happy with the fockoos of the players for the first 8 minutes before we let in two goals in quick succession. He will declare us brilliant and cream himself over how much we're forcing the opposition to worry about us and change their setup to deal with us. He will also state that he has given each player a full body massage as a reward for their efforts, and that the team coach will be going to McDonalds on the way home so that they can all have chicken nuggets. GvK will break protocol and go for a Quarter Pounder which he will be too lazy to collect for himself, while Wes Thomas will declare himself vegetarian for no apparent reason so that he doesn't have to join in. The team coach will then break down with John Mousinho stating how confused he is by its sudden spluttering and Mike Williamson agreeing that it seems unusually lethargic. Jack Payne will try to fix it before being subbed out of mechanic duties for Agon Mehmeti. Or we'll sneak a 1-0 win. One or the other - they're both as likely as each other. Wes Thomas sustains an injury while collecting GVK's Quarter Pounder for him.

Saw Ribeiro walking across the car park to get on the team coach earlier, so it looks like we may have a right back playing at right back again. For 15-20 minutes

We either score first then get hammered for the rest of the game and lose 4 or 5-1,or we lose by 4 5 or 6.
This seems very much like the Paterson season, when we went a goal down you knew wed lose, even if it was the first 5 mins of the game.

Surely we are not staying overnight for a game at Peterborough ? Anything over two hours used to be the rule, and Peterborough is just over two hours. But in all honesty in this day and age I'd imagine that overnight stays before any away game are likely the norm. That surprises me Ryan. The players could sleep in their own beds tonight, leave at 9.45 - 10am and have time for a pre-match nr Peterborough. Maybe the club wants the new fathers - van Kessel , Mousinho and Williamson to get a good night's kip?!

I agree - the casual racism by some posters comes a bit too easily sometimes. Put yourself in Pep's shoes. You have got to be kidding me. Cool, if that's where we're at now. No different to when people used to take the p*ss out of Appleton and his "philosopheh", or when countless others used to take the p*ss out of Wilder and his "I'm not appeh" quips. All racist, yeah? All racist towards Mancs and Yorkshire chaps? Get some perspective. This is nearly as ridiculous as when people said Charlie had called someone a paedophile when he clearly hadn't. Never heard anyone ridicule Appleton or Wilder for their pronunciation to be fair. Just seems unneccesary, if you disagree with the man fair play critique him, but his dialect? On the contrary however, I took the p*ss out of my geordie mates accent earlier. Suppose it's somewhere between snide and banter. Just depends on the perspective. Agree fully with your not racist comments. (edit: just in case - I don't think it was a snide comment, just not a cool one)

Predictions on this game, your joking right........ Last season we could and should have won the game 10-1 we were that good and looked like scoring every time we went forward, this season we have many factors that tell us things are very different now which turns us into a jeckl and Hyde team, lose when expected to win, win when expected to lose, play out of our skins for 15 minutes, capitulate within a flash.... On the whole and after nearly a quarter of the season gone I see the following - * we do not have the fire power up front that we had..... * we do not have the midfield that controls the game for long periods that we had.... * we have proved that we can fold very quickly at the back..... * the strong bench we had to change or manage a game from a winning position are now starting games.... * the hunger and the will to win for the whole 90 minutes is not what it was.... * we do not have a strong enough to tough enough manager to pull us through...... . After all said and done, 4 of us will still be leaving Lincoln at 10.00am to "hopefully" collect 3 points and if we are going to win I imagine we need a clean sheet which is very doubtful..
Peterborough - 2 OXFORD UTD - 0 Att - 5986 (974 yellows)
COME ON YOU YELLOWS......

We simultaneously click and turn the corner with a 3-1 away win. GVK gives us the lead, Curtis Nelson doubles the deficit with a header, Posh pull one back late on, but GVK scores a breakaway goal in the dying seconds to make it 3-1.
Whatever happens, I hope the Yellows don't match my unenviable (and surely unique?) record of conceding five penalties in one afternoon at London Road.

Only bit I disagree with is using Peps pronunciation as a negative. Not cool man. I agree - the casual racism by some posters comes a bit too easily sometimes. Put yourself in Pep's shoes. Well, it's not racism, English and Spanish are generally reckoned as the same race. It's fairly affectionate and just picking up a quirk, surely

Least confident I've felt going into a game in a long time. Point away at Peterborough who are doing well would normally be good but we need all three to catch up to those ahead.

Whatever happens, ruffels needs to play instead of rothwell
Rothwell is clearly the "better" player but neither Appy or Pep seem to know how to play him without breaking the side.
If we looked at the stats i bet we have a much higher win % with ruffels in instead of Rothwell.
Shame because i really like him as a player.

Away I agree we need Josh in the team maybe at home where we will have more of the ball we can play Joe.

Looking forward to the game today as always. It will be a difficult match but I think we can get a result and a confidence booster we need to kick start our season. 2-1 to the u's and I fancy Ruffles to get on the score sheet although a draw would be ok.

Surely, if Pep is going to persist on playing a Cb out of Nelson,Mousinho, Williamson at RB, he should play Nelson there? Nelson is quick and strong and he adds that attacking threat.

Such is my depression about this side that I have come to the conclusion that anything less than a 4-0 loss will be a moral victory.
How I wish I were wrong.

Just setting off. Refused to give anyone a lift as I need total focus after recent performances that have left me ... bemused 😊Suitable mix of Radiohead, Elbow and Arctic Monkeys to keep me company ... no idea what to expect really although head says more of same... the hope that lives in all YELLOWS screams this'll be the start of the rest of the season, with our winner coming from our Albanian vampire slayer who will grab a hatrick after declaring himself 'half fit', finishing his third by driving a stake through the heart of the Posh keeper. 2-3 in a game that goes down as an all time great. Perhaps. COYY!

Maybe Peps system will work better against the more footballing type sides much like mapps did. Today could be an ideal game for us to pass it around as we like to who knows.
But if we go a goal down for christ sake dig in and manage the next 15min spell so we dont concede again and try to stay in the game for 90 mins please.

think we'll be better with ribeiro back. also pleased ruffels is starting. thought thomas wasn't fit though?
still don't think we'll win. maybe a draw but i think a loss to nil. think it will be our best performance for a while though.

We should have some balance back in the team and be more solid (hopefully)
People that are saying this is a make or break game for Pep, are idiots. Complete idiots
