So, no Obika, no Thomas, Ribs is a maybe as is Mehmeti. GvK, according to the club website, is the most likely to start as striker. It is getting harder to remain positive. Hopefully we start with both Henry and Hall and go for a solid midfield and wait for counter attacking opportunities. Ruffs to start as well please.

yes i've payed for my house betting, i've never worked i work by betting, I'm a professional gambler as the correct term would be. I don`t believe you. To gamble you must also lose and, to fund something like a house, you would have had losses of a similar size. The only winners in gambling are bookmakers.... I have never met a poor one. PS: Its "paid". This is a semi-interesting old wives tale. Being a bookmaker is a perilous and risky trade. Plenty go bust; some make a lot of money. I guess that by the time they have gone bust, they are ex-bookmakers, thus justifying your claim never to have met a poor one. What is true is that there are around 8000 getting shops in the UK and probably only about 500 or so consistently successful professional gamblers. The vast majority of them being horseracing gamblers, where the market is more mature and the bookies margins tighter.

Anyone got a tip for parking tonight? No that's more an American thing. In Bury you can just pay the advertised fare.

One thing is in no doubt at all......if Maguire scores he will give the Oxford fans the same sort of treatment he gave the Swindon fans. Very much a Tommy Mooney sort of character

I'm torn between a dull 0-0 draw (probably the most likely outcome) or a 1-0 win for Bury - scoring an injury time winner after Oxford have had the majority of the chances. In some ways I'd almost prefer the latter, as at least we would have shown some effort.....

can't see any other result than a home win tonight!! the confidence is shot What about Bury's confidence? They're in the relegation zone and haven't won since the first day! They are also missing key players injured. This strikes me as being one of those scrappy, hard-fought games where desperation to win trumps points for style. The first goal is often very meaningful, as the team that concedes is slumps and thinks "Oh Christ, here we go again". So I just hope that we go out there and give it everything and - by whatever means necessary - get that ball into the net first. 2-1 to Oxford.

Bury 3 - 0 Oxford A long awaited confidence-boosting win against a strong Oxford team helps turn Bury's season round.
3 shots on target for Oxford so some signs of improvement.
Maguire nailed on to score.
567 hardy away fans.

Very much a Tommy Mooney sort of character Maybe my head is three-feet deep in silicon dioxide...but I'd really like to believe he'd be respectfully reserved (for Chris Maguire, bien sûr)... Like, only three circuits of the pitch waving his shirt before driving double V-signs into the night sky in front of the hardy 500 travelling faithful from the Homeland. The flip-side...how would the United fans be if he contrived to get himself sent off...?

One thing is in no doubt at all......if Maguire scores he will give the Oxford fans the same sort of treatment he gave the Swindon fans. Very much a Tommy Mooney sort of character I don't think he would unless the Oxford gave him stick beforehand. He got his father to write some comments on Twitter I believe about Oxford not showing a great interest in him, hence why he had to look elsewhere, but I think that was to defuse the angst between him and the fans. I actually think he likes the Oxford fans for the respect and support we've given him, hence is reaction against Swindon, so I personally wouldn't give him a warm welcome or a bad one, but just keep it natural, then you'll really see where he's respect lies.

No reason for Maguire to get anything other than a good reception from us. And I'm sure if he does he will have a bit of respect. And if he takes the p*ss, so what? We all know he's a gobshite, that's a big part of why fans loved him in the first place.
I would say not to get on his back though, as he's exactly the type who relishes it and ups their game because of it.

Then we'll truly know whether he wanted to re-sign for us or was just looking for the best deal financially. I'd give Skarz a good reception though.

Anyone got a tip for parking tonight? The last time I went there I parked in Devon Street almost on Gigg Lane. I only had to cross the road to get in their supporters club. It could be residents only now but it's worth a look if you get there early.

Having missed most of the Walsall game (thankfully) I am more than likely to be late on parade for tonight. Have got to force myself to go out for a meal with friends this evening but because of the time difference I should make the second hald. And we're going to win 2-0!
COME ON YOU YELLOWS

Ever tried parking in the centre of Oxford? Ever tried driving in the centre of Oxford? Only 6 years (3 full time) as a taxi driver! But I'm coming over for the Wombles game and the though of going into Oxford gives me nightmares now.

Really important we put in an improved performance today. Against what is evidently a poor Burt side, a performance similar to what we managed to muster against Blackpool and Walsall would be unacceptable.
I'd go for:
Eastwood Carroll Nelson Mousinho Ricardinho Henry Ledson Ruffels Hall Van Kessel Obika
That's assuming Thomas is injured. If Obika is injured too, I guess we'll have to start Mehmeti? I really like Payne but think he could do with a bit of a rest. He's been much less effective the last few matches, and teams seem to have sussed our style. Two up front would give opposition defenders something different to think about.
