The long awaited fixture is almost upon us, and the U's will be well supported by the Yellow army!!! And I fancy us to get at least a draw and put the disappointment of being pegged back deep into injury time in our last match against the Bantams behind us. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside... COYY!!!

We've only won once up there in about 13 visits so I'm going for a 1-1 draw with Payne scoring for the mighty yellows

I'm leaving at 2 pm.. with a couple of friends..we've booked into the Travel lodge opposite the ground, and for a round of Golf at Lytham on Sunday morning. Looking forward to it ..haven't seen the lights since I was a nipper. Think we can get a result, but at the very least it will tell us something about the current set of players.
Orders being taken for rock.

Fancy us to win tomorrow, we haven't won away since start of the season.Think the team has been a different class the past 2 games. One concern is who will start up top. Obika won't play and Thomas looked like he had a knock in the last 5 minutes on Tuesday. So if they were both out it'll probably be Gino or Hall upfront with Mowatt coming in on the left. 3-1 Oxford Hall, Ledson, Ricardinho Predicted line up Eastwood Mousinho Nelson Williamson Ricardinho Ledson Rothwell Hall Payne Mowatt Gino If Thomas is fit then him instead of Gino.

Oxford miss a hatful of chances.
Forum goes into meltdown over a lack of a 20 goal a season striker.

I remember in the mid 70s we had 3 players sent off up there in the same game! Mick Tait, Peter Houseman and I've gone and clean forgotten the other...was it Cassidy? I normally remember useless trivia like this. Had to write an apology to the FA and Blackpool after!

“We are happy because we know there are a lot of fans from Oxford travelling up and we want to get a result for them so they can have one of those nice British weekends in Blackpool!”
Guess who? Pep!

I don't think Midson's come back yet Pete.
But for the 20-goal a season striker we need, he gets my vote.

Anyone got space for one more in their car for tomorrow?
Looking for a lift to Blackpool from Oxford / Abingdon.
Will chip in with petrol money and can meet you in the morning wherever.

How many then will make the track. Absolutely bloody freezing up here. Brighton it isn't. It was quite mild when we arrived about 14 -15 deg. ... Had a walk along the prom to the Tower about an hour ago light breeze but no rain.
Lovely statue of Jimmy Armfield outside the ground. Walked up to the north pier and got some Haddock & Chips.
Boy have they done some work on the stadium and the surrounds since I was here last..its actually extremely nice.
Bumped into a family of Pilgrims from Plympton of all places up here for a week.. Albion supporters..reckons we have wasted our time and need to play 1 -9 -1 to have any chance of stopping their forward line...all good fun ...I explained we were up here for the golf.
They are off to watch their lot at Bury tomorrow and I wished them well. We've had a little side bet £20 quid for charity we've gone 0 - 1 they 4- 0 ( tossers ! ) but have said we can park in their drive if we should travel to Devon.
Cant say fairer than that.
Barman in one of the local pubs rekons they get really poor crowds these days and it will be to our advantage.
Off for a few nightcaps now.
Night all ..more tomorrow after the win

We pick up where we left off (apart from injury time) 0-2. Payne, gvk. Mous continues at rb and earns a motm performance. They have scored a lot from long range already this season, so another good performance from the defence and lego shutting down. Oxford fans just over 1/3 of the crowd

Just heard that Derek Coles a lovely man and Oxford fan of 60+ years has passed away. Heaven is blue and yellow tonight. He was a devoted fan from Headington Utd days. A South stand lower devotee of recent years. God bless Derek. I'm sure he's shouting COYY tonight.
