What do we think about this? http://instagram.com/p/BYQ2pnqHTJu The evidence seems to be there. Heard the guy in question could’ve just handed in his stakes at Reading too (although not sure on the legitimatcy about that).

this is interesting. Would mean they would be able to buy Oxford as they now have nothing to do with Reading. Not enough money for Championship but enough for League One?

Just a bit of kid's gossip. Nothing to read into it at all.
Don't you wish it was true though? We'd love another go at the Thames Valley Royals.

We'd love another go at the Thames Valley Royals. to be fair I did hear some whispers of someone from Thailand attending today’s game with intentions of possibly buying the club this morning. All adds up. Especially when you read the article oufcyellows just posted here. Not sure but I definitely believe it more than I dis-believe it.

Not enough money for Championship but enough for League One?Not sure how this would be good for OUFC if it were a buy out of Mr Eales. We already have an investor with enough money for L1. We need an investor with enough money to take us forward. If it were a partnership between the Thai and Mr Eales, that might be different.

If it's an investor to help DE with some cash it could work.

Could depend on how much they received for reading. Can't seem to find a figure anywhere, but it looks like it was for club, ground, development land around it and the training ground, so probably a fair chunk and several times more than de net worth

The article says that they will retain the development land. It also quotes them as saying they don't know football, but they do know property. I don't think there is anything in this(well I hope there isn't tbh).

They sold the club stadium and training ground. But kept the development land and hotel. www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-fans-question-thai-12878930

I wonder if they might be exploring a deal that would see the purchase and development of the land around the ground or perhaps something in conjunction with Kassam? They do what they are good at and DE is left to run the club. A mutually beneficial deal for all sides is the only way I see us moving forward on that front.

Why is anyone going to buy the club to leave Eales in charge?
The club is pretty obviously for sale if Eales can get the price he wants, although that price seems to be quite high if Sartori couldn't match it. Guessing Eales is happy enough to be patient till he gets the money he wants.

The Thais also retained land around the ground when they sold the club, so perhaps a word of warning there.

So the Thai mob kept the hotel and the land around the stadium, which has therefore prevented Reading from making a butt load of extra cash while also removing one of their assets / income streams.
I guess given their track record that if there is anything in it, we wouldn't possibly be sold to them, seeing as any deal to sell would only be in the best interests of the club. Right?

There are car parks and an indoor training bubble which are they looking to develop into housing (or mixed usage). There is more land there than you first think and if I recall from a Reading supporting colleague, they have put planning permission in on it.
Their only interest for us could be the same as Kassam. Redevelopment of the stadium into housing and move us elsewhere.

If they don't get income they expected from it, it will.

That article is date mid April.
I seem to recall Reading being officially taken over at their semi final win in the play offs. Therefore, is that Thai chap a current owner of Reading FC?

Anything by OxBabble lacks a touch of creditability these days since the flounce.

To be fair the Flounce was 'invented' in 1929 when Nijinsky (the dancer not the horse) and Isadora Duncan 'got it on' behind the scenes at a studio luncheon in New Yawk. I doubt even Oxbible can claim to have the skinny on that, as Ring Lardner would have said. Here's an interesting link.

Obviously, but it's a sweeter deal considering they get to make money on a real estate deal as and when planning is given.

Lot of wishful thinking around at the moment. and shit stirring! The box that is usually occupied by the players not involved had different people in today, a group of Asian men watching the game. Anyone else in the are recognise them? May well be nothing of course but the first time I've seen the players moved along.

Didn't really pay too much attention with the fare on the pitch being so enthralling. Just thought it odd for the players to be in a different box and wondered if anyone else in the vicinity paid any more attention to it than I had.
