On the face of it looks a good deal. £1 for a ticket, 3 prizes and a free drink at one of two establishments.
Cut & paste from club website.
There’s a new look to United’s half-time prize draw this Saturday, with JT’s Cocktail Bar joining the fun and the prizes changing to include second and third prizes.
The new draw brings the Fifty/50 draw right up to date and represents great value: All prize draw tickets cost just £1 and entitle the buyer to a free drink (a beer or house spirit with a dash) at either JT’s Cocktail Bar in George Street or The Three Horseshoes in Garsington.
Prizes have been expanded and the draw has a first prize of up to £750. Second prize is a £100 voucher for the Oxford United club shop, either in the O-Zone or at the shop’s new premises in the Covered Market, while third prize is a VIP package at JT’s Cocktail Bar.
The draw will take place at half-time and prizes can be collected from the matchday reception immediately after the game or by calling 01865 337528 during the week.
Look out for the sellers all around the ground on Saturday.

What's JT's in town like? No idea, expect someone will be along shortly to let us know. Google reckons it's open from 7pm on Saturdays which isn't great - I usually have a drink in town before getting the train home around 6!

Big reduction in the cash prize. Over £1600 for the Pompey game now, "up to £750". Doesn't have the same appeal. Probably give it a miss. Shame as it helped the club, at least that's what I presume it did? (hence the 50/50)

I was an occasional buyer (mostly on the big occasions - seemingly I have no idea how odds work!).
But the reduction of the top prize and the addition of things that are useless to those of us who don't live in Oxford mean I might think twice next time.

£750 would still be a nice little bonus, and the club shop voucher surely interests everyone, ok the VIP in a bar i've never heard of isn't especially interesting but it's a quid and helps the club out, not surprised some people have managed to get annoyed at this though

Any consultation with fans done before this change? I've supported the 50/50 since it's inception ... not happy with the change. Won't be buying until someone realises what a mistake the change is. IMO cocktails and football are not something mixed and put in a glass with a couple of straws.

I reckon it should be 'Up to £1,000' but will this change seriously stop people buying tickets and helping the youth development??

I also think the £750 first prize is shit compared to what we had. I won't bother, so the club loses out on my £2.00 a game. I feel they're just being greedy by limiting the first prize, or am I being greedy?

For us it was routine on match days to buy 4 tickets, never won but always hopeful. The prizes on offer are, aside from the cash, of no interest so we may well stop buying them. One big cash pot was always the attraction, a free beer in some obscure bar? or a VIP package, whatever that means? No thanks. All for supporting the youth team, well worthwhile. I hope the bright spark who came up with this has a rethink.

Same here, normally always buy a ticket, probably won't bother now as the lower prizes are of no interest. Should have made it a free drink from farrs in the stadium. Brought one every game for 4 years or so, never won, but did have a very nice beer courtesy of a headingtonutd win 👍

If they allowed us to purchase tickets online then they may get more sales and thus increase the prizes

Always brought a program and had two 50/50 tickets in-lieu of change
Don't know either of the free drink places and the capping of the cash prize is surprising
Definitely a backward step from my view point

£100 from the club shop every home game is pretty good. Think of all the kids getting extra OUFC stuff for birthdays and whatnot, and all the away fans that will have to become Oxford fans because they don't want to waste the voucher.

So say if they sell 3000 tickets, it's the prizes as stated and the rest to OUFC football in the community?
Also, if for instance I buy 5 tickets, is it 5 free drinks at the cocktail bar?

Going to advertise in the 3 horseshoes.
Anyone who drinks in there can pay me to buy 50/50 tickets, I get to keep any winnings, but for their pound they get the stub back so can drink for £1 a pint. Everyone's a winner

So is the "balance" between the Prize cap and the old % going to the Community? Is it still 50/50 ? Like many others I would buy a programme and tickets in lieu of change....less inclined now.
Just another tiny erosion to the "Our Club" feel.........

This raises all sorts of genuine concerns. Have the two establishments actually thought this through? And, if they were to limit the offer to one drink/cocktail per person, what incentive is there to buy more than one ticket?

The free drink stuff is rubbish but if this means that more money is going into the youth trust then thats a good thing isnt it?
It may be a worse deal than before but ponying up £1 of which you might win £750 with the rest going to benefit the club is still a win/win thing to do as a supporter of the club, isnt it?
If it isnt going into the youth trust, where is it going?

Are people really moaning about this? It's 50/50 Not anymore it isn't. A bit of a downgrade in what's possible to win. How is this change bringing the draw 'up to date'. I think that's spin. It also says a first prize of up to £750 - when will it be less?

I am not sure many will share your concerns on that big a basis...

If somebody is using the difference between a top prize of (example) £1600 (Pompey Game) and the new "cap..upto" £750 then if £850 goes to the Community thats great............ if. So let them come out with some clarity.

The article on the site makes no reference to the rest going to youth development as it always has done. Maybe it's paying the difference for all these £1 Cocktails. May as well join in, I wouldn't have changed it either..
