All we need now is a cup draw against the SCUM he scores the winner and kisses the badge. That would make him a legend in my eyes.

I watched his goals reel and accidentally clapped one of them. Is it ok because he's our player now or still a crime because he was wearing a red shirt? Either way I feel a little dirty.

Decent touch, likes a strike from distance as well. So long as he stays fit he should do well here.

If we can keep all 3 firing next season we will have a scary attack, especially with hall and johno on the wings

6 goals in 31 games last season. I'm underwhelmed by this but considering he was never fit (but then neither where the rest of the Swindon squad) or injured that isn't really a guide.

It's an upgrade on Taylor. Same role but more goals. Hopefully he will bring the best out of hemmings/ another

Should be a much needed upgrade on hemmings if he stays fit He may well link up well with Hemmings like Ajose.

If he weighs in with as much effort and goals as another former scummer who came to us from them, Ken Skeen....40 fags a day smoker and fit as f*ck too... he'll do well Needs to bang a few in early in the season to shake off the failure of his previous employers and negate any negativity regarding his scum heritage Ken Spleen, a? I went to Luton in around '74 and we won 1-0 I think, with a screamer from Kenny boy. I also spoke to Eric Morecambe that night. Cuddy, a? Seen it, done it!

But did Eric's dog Ernie run on the pitch ? That would explain the short fat hairy legs jokes out

A six-goals-a-season striker from the scum - is he really likely to push Wes and Kane for a starting slot? Still at least he didn't cost anything. Hemmings got six league goals last season in more games played.

Are you old enough to remember John Chiedozie? Spurs as well I think? Got to be related surely? When I was an ickle boy I called Spurs my team and he is probably the only player I remember from that team.

In dire need of height and strength. Weakest point last year, but especially now Chey has gone. FIngers crossed the recruitment team have got it right.

Wonder what shirt number he goes for. The number 7 would look good on the back of him.

They are a funny bunch where strikers are concerned, for some reason only league goals count and from open play not pens 😉

Welcome Jon Obika, and congratulations on being the first signing of the Clotet era!
Not the most exciting signing we've ever made, but hopefully he'll be a useful addition to the squad. Hopefully he can remain injury free and bang in a few goals.
Out of interest based on the other strikers in the squad, Hemmings and Thomas, where would we all say Obika fits? Is he first choice, or perhaps back-up/squad rotation player?
I have a feeling we are going to see a fresh, fit and reinvigorated Wes Thomas this season, so perhaps it is between Obika and Hemmings to fight for a first team place?

If he's good then that's great, but if not I don't think he will be given much time by OUfC fans. Not sure if this is a sensible signing.

I don't think Thomas will make 5 starts next season.
Happy with this signing. An upgrade on what we've got. Left footed too, which is handy.
