He will get a lot of shit for knocking down the stadium and putting houses on it. Hence why the club extending the license on the stadium is the only real power play they have.

What is needed is a pincer movement, an owner of OUFC saying that they will relocate and the council saying if they do he will get planning for jack shit at Grenoble Rd, sadly the council have no balls. If the club were to relocate, the council would be pretty much powerless to prevent the old stadium site from being redeveloped. Building much-needed housing on a brownfield site would be very much in line with the local and national planning framework and whilst Oxford City Council may reject a planning application, this would almost certainly be overturned on appeal. Nothing to do with the council having the balls or not; it's down to the legal framework.

Once FK had successfully manipulated his way clear of all the covenants on the site he could do with it as he pleased. He may not be liked but he is a very astute and ruthless businessman. It will take some heavy duty acumen to wrest Grenoble road from his hands. (and some serious wedge!)

I wonder what the implications of bob price stepping down could be for Oufc. All depends on who takes over I guess

Brown field site,no longer used for Sport, the council seem to have done a good job on preventing that from being developed. Its 5 years this December since it closed. Planning permission was sought for 150 houses and 75 flats. Yet the council and local MP seem to think that 2 dying sports in Greyhound racing and Speedway will somehow find a backer with mega bucks to buy the stadium and keep sport alive on the site.
