To be fair, Mansfields ground isnt all that different to the Kassam,.....
Obviously only 3 sides in use there aswell and those sides are all well developed offering good views (judging by the away end this season)

I keep meaning to ask this, but what's happened to our scoreboard? Has it just broken or something?

Not sure! Said on Twitter a while ago that options were being looked at, but they are quiet pricey

I was told it was too old to be fixed and any replacement would have to be supplied by the stadium company - so don't hold your breath!

Daryl eales is looking into options including sponsored ones. Like the with replacing the pitch the club have to pay for most improvements

I keep meaning to ask this, but what's happened to our scoreboard? Has it just broken or something? I hope I haven't put a bluddy curse on it! I always make predictions before our games. The scoreboard blowing up was always on my agenda! Now, if I can just predict Ka-Ka-Curse him to move away from our place.......

Apparently a bloody dog ran into it while trying to jump the fence

No need for a scoreboard at ours; some floppy-haired muppet's guaranteed to be following the Arse / Chelsea / etc match and he'll have a bloody good shout about the half-times with his mates.
Down with modern football!

Of all the things Exer fans should be worrying about, announcing scores at half time isn't high. What an odd bunch

Down with modern football! Yup. I find it particularly annoying as I go for Likely Lads style ignoring of the results from the top flight so I can watch Match of the Day without knowing the scores. Increasingly difficult these days!

We don't have a very good track record when it comes to scoreboards. The first to be installed was in the early 70's and was situated between the Cuckoo Lane End and Osler Road terrace. It had an analogue clock, an advert for Corals and showed the score from the match, only sometimes the operator would turn the numbers in the wrong direction and cheers would rise from the crowd as the board would show Oxford's tally as 9, then 8, then 7 etc. Next we had the 'revolutionary' Biomass scoreboard in the 90s. It was supposed to show action replays but it never did. Fast forward to 2001 when a few games into the new stadium's first season and Kassam announced that he was going to buy one. It was a sign of things to come that he bought the cheapest thing he could get away with.

Who needs a scoreboard? just get a giant whiteboard and some big pens and a guy on a ladder. As long as he has a watch as well to update the clock, I think an analogue clockface is the way to go. He'll need a felt-tip set if he is going to do adverts though.

I think the issue was that the Coral scoreboard couldn't go backwards - so if someone pressed the button too long and went past the required number, they then had to go all the way up and past zero again.

Pressed the button? I thought it was a handle that had to be turned somewhere! That scoreboard was quality though - wonder whatever happened to it? Never a quarrel, bet with Coral.
