Some miserable old farts on here. If someone wants to make a tin foil cup and bring it to the match, please don't discourage them. This should be a fun day and a time to enjoy the football on display and take in the atmosphere of a full house. Doesn't happen often.

I always thought these 'tinfoil' cups I saw fans hold up was the real thing & commended the FA for sharing the trophy around with true fans. I do have a 15 inch TV so this could account for my error.

Any rival fan who introduces himself on a football forum as 'So in so fan here in peace' deserves a kicking.

I've planned mi face paint for tomorrow.
The FA Cup on one cheek, a half-Ox/half-Swan creature on the other.
I haven't got any foil and I'm a bit disappointed with my baking paper FA Cup if I'm honest. May leave that at home.

Went to the Eastleigh game today and witnessed a tin foil covered cardboard cup, many half and half scarves, a rattle, someone wearing the mask of HRH the Queen plus a numpty running on the pitch during play. All rather quaint to be honest.

Was watching this on-line if only to whet the appetite for the real thing tomorrow. Half and half scarves are just another odious part of modern day football to be filed alongside champions singing "campioni" and music after a goal is scored. Oddly I quite like seeing tin foil cups and more traditional supporters gear at cup matches.

Still undecided whether to go south to watch St.Johnstone or north to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. I note that these two Scottish Premiership giants couldn't muster an average Oxford home crowd between them. Will hopefully meet up for an Oxford game in near future.

The only person likely to bring a tin foil FA Cup is Timmy Mallett but he's already brought his out for Maidenhead's cup run so surely he wouldn't now claim to support us again?

Saw him at the Orient game actually. Sometimes when I'm just on the train or in the shower or something I think 'wtf is Timmy Mallett doing right this second' because he's the sort of guy that you just wouldn't even be able to guess the answer. He's a bit like the Queen in that respect. But yeah I guess he'll be there tomorrow. I actually think he's alright.

I'm a fan of the tin foil cups. Helped my son make one, nice father son time and nice to see him excited by the FA cup and going to watch Oxford again. As long as they're not being waved around obstructing people's views what's the issue?
It's not tin pot, it's good to see the FA cup being celebrated.

Well, this post got me out of bed, so you've asked for it. How do you get yourself noticed by the TV cameras at the match I hear you ask? To be truthful, it's difficult for the cameraman to spot you amongst the flurry of half-and-halfs, tin foil cups and general trite tat the media are egging people on to wear. The answer my friends ............. is the half-and-half tinfoil cup hat (R) . You saw it here first! Here's a lazy arZe photoshop jobbie of someone who doesn't look like me at the Kassam wearing the beautiful object of ultimate desire in order to flaunt their undying support of the beautiful game:

Eric - I just seen a man Selling these The 'gentleman' in question seems to have already urinated where he's standing. Possibly because of the note to Eric, but most likely because he realises his wares will never be able to compete with products about to be displayed by the Half-and-Half Tin Foil Cup Hat (R) salesman that will be turning up in a few short minutes......

Carlisle away? That's my closest game and quite looking forward to going in late spring this season rather than the middle of winter.

Think you deserve some credit for this prediction tbh. Personally I'm mildly embarrassed that he's our 'celebrity fan' (very small c)

If its Blackburn in the next round it should be a designated Flatcap/Trilby and Rattle day to remember the good old days
Even though I was only 1 and half back then so didn't make the match
No doubt rattles if you could get hold of one are deemed a weapon nowadays
