I never really understood how anyone got involved in the whole Osler road thing. As a London Roader it just struck me as some sort of weird cult and nobody knew how you got in there, who those people were, and what they were reflecting on in their silence . Often they seemed to be staring in awe at the trees behind the cuckoo lane end for no particular reason although I fear they raised the a Fox FM scoreboard into some weird Demi God like C3PO was to the ewoks

I witnessed some good games from the Osler... The 4-3 v Ipswich, the 1-0 v Everton, was in there when Stevie Biggins looped the winner over Jeff Wealands to beat Man Utd. The Osler back then was full either of old fellas wanting a quieter match experience, or like me youngsters who weren't old enough to be allowed into the LRT. I think I graduated around 1987 to the LRT and stayed there until we moved. Cuckoo Lane trees did look good from there though I must admit...

I've always been a bit suspicious of the North Stand fans. Weird types I say - will always the modern day equivalents to the Osler Road in my eyes! Oi. I spent many happy years in earshot of Ken Fish until I grew tall enough to be able to see the game from the London Road. You are talking a while ago then if the dugouts were on that side. Sent from my SM-N910F using proboards

It's simple, you get a much better view from the half way line, it's just a shame you can't have it with the best atmosphere

There can't be many grounds where the away fans get some of the best seats in the house.

There can't be many grounds where the away fans get some of the best seats in the house. Trouble being most grounds don't have a behind the goal end missing to stick them in. Build a new safe standing singing end with a low roof. Stick the away fans in the east stand, with bazzer who won't leave his seat

London rd didn't have a little alley along the back that you could play football in with an empty coke bottle at half time, while listening to 4 non blondes, and I said hey what's going on !

I've always been a bit suspicious of the North Stand fans. Weird types I say - will always the modern day equivalents to the Osler Road in my eyes! Bit harsh, the North Standers make more noise than the old Osler Roaders ever did. If you were looking for the really weird types, that would have been right-side London Roaders. Tried it once over there, just didn't feel at home so went back to the correct side. Wot, me weird? Watch it mate, or I'll set my rabbits on you.
