Ex player today been sacked by Aldershot. Excellent player, nice guy and a talented manager who I thought would be plying his trade at a much higher level. Putting his heart condition aside would you have him as our next manager?

Nah. Innovative suggestion, and Christ would be good at the fuzzy teamy stuff, and probably a good motivator, but don't think he'd have the required tactical awareness or enough contacts in the game.

Missing the thread a bit, but could be Waddock moving up the M3

Anyone remember a penalty he took at the east stand which I'm certain ended up in the block without the seats at the top?

Waddock could easily end back up at Aldershot. Aldershot is a last call for some. Dean Holdsworth was there and ended up at Chelmsford. Not so sure Andy will find a good job in football again

Is the managers job available then?
Now, it's not for me to tell people what to post but I really can't see why the next manager here will be discussed, Appleton will not be going anywhere for this season, and barring relegation I can't see anything happening until this time next year at the earliest.
Everyone may aswell support him, if only for their own stress levels.
Whether he should stay or not is a different discussion.

Putting his heart condition aside would you have him as our next manager? Definitely not after his past couple of roles. Also 'excellent player'? I seem to remember him as many people put it 'couldn't hit a barn door'. He seemed a really good guy, but was extremely disappointing for Oxford as he came for a decent fee if I remember right.

The football on show or that we as a fan base are just going to accept this oft-mentioned statement without so much of a whimper. We should be calling for Appleton's head and searching for his replacement. Instead, we're letting him pull us into the abyss. Sack him now.

Terrible, terrible manager for Shots. My mate is a Shots supporter and apart from the first few games of last season, Scott has destroyed the team by letting go good players and bringing in (in his words) 'guff'. They were so desperate for him to go there was a protest outside the main offices after the game against Kiddie on Tuesday night!
