If ever we were to put a statue up outside the stadium of an Oxford United legend, who would you like it to be?

A Bronze Ox? Mick Brown? Robert Maxwell? Charlie Methven?
There is nobody obvious is there (somebody who is synonymous with the club)
The most successful managers were Arthur Turner and Jim Smith (mark 1- he unfortunately blotted his copy book a little in the second spell)
Players? None that were fantastic for the club and remained involved/ always came back (PRB/ Les Taylor are the closest). Joey was the best 'local' player but even he went to S******.
And the most successful chairman was none other than Maxwell.
So stick with the Ox!

Michael Jackson.
We could probably get a second hand one quite cheap...

If we were being serious for just a second (which, on this forum, doesn't happen that often granted), I would have a statue of an injured Martin Aldridge, with Mike Ford sat on his back arms raised celebrating the cause of the injury, Aldridge's goal against Swindon at The Manor. Iconic image.

Personally prefer this as an image. Attachments:

I'd bet Firoz would chip in a few quid for a statue of himself

Any one of:
- The Wilder Wembley slide - Julian Alsop's attempted scorpion kick - Ian McGuckin - although a statue would probably move more - Di Canio on his haunches with his head in his hands
Although I think that Malcolm Shotton holding the Milk Cup midway through that jig he did would be an iconic statue to have.

Personally prefer this as an image. I wonder if that could work as a Han Solo frozen in carbonite style sculpture.

Shotton with the cup and horns hat at Wembley would be the obvious choice. A good servant to the club too despite his wonky managerial reign!

Think it was the 2-0 win on the 19th April 1997.

The Wilder Wembley slide is a good one Trouble is half would want it "in" and half "out" of the ground. And if it was ever replaced with a new statue some would be saying the old one was better and they told us we shouldn't have changed it
