This Wednesday London Welsh are in Oxford to promote rugby in Oxford. Lots for the kids to see and try plus have their photos with a world cup winner and international players. For the older people in oxford, pop down to the Royal Blenheim in St Ebbes and have your beer poured by of the players and if your hungry you will find more players helping in the Gourmet Burger kitchen in George street . www.london-welsh.co.uk#BIGCITYSCRUM

Could be a good publicity tool for OUFC to use in early august 2015 to do something similar

Saw this in royal Blenheim the other week. I know it's a rugby pub, but have seen LW posters in the James Street tavern too

A really good day enjoyed by all. Not even the rain dampened the spirits. Check out the gallery.

I wanted to highlight where ou are missing out. What do they do to encourage fans, young and old, to become/stay united fans. They are losing fans every season and what are they doing to stop the rot? There's nothing on the pitch to encourge us to go. From real ale to a big screen. From fun zone to giving corporate boxes every to Sobell House and Help For Heroes every game united have to pick their ideas.

Weird, no mention of that in ur opening post. Almost like u were advertising/shit stiring Maybe your opinion, but the OP is a life long resident of Oxford and supporter of OUFC. The club should be asking why he and others have turned in their Oxford season tickets in favour of LW ones. As a lifelong resident of Oxford and long term supporter of both clubs, I don't see OUFC trying to promote themselves in the local area, so don't see why you should be upset that LW are. Maybe the OPs posting is a symptom of how OUFC have, in his opinion let him down.

Don't overplay the "OUFC fans are deserting to LW" card. Your mate is probably one of a handful of people who have done so.

The press was all over this love fest. Maybe if they changed there name to Oxford something people would come around over time, but as far as I'm concerned, long as they are LONDON WELSH, they are not welcome.

Should never have changed the name or moved from Headington Seriously, are you trying to equate a football club moving from one part of its home city to another, with a rugby club moving from London to Oxford? Enjoy your open days. Enjoy your season in the top flight. Don't make out London Welsh belong in Oxford though, because they don't.

They claim it's good for the county and oufc to have two sports clubs succeeding but here they are unashamedly marketing and bragging about making inrodes into our fanbase whilst casting it off as something else.

It's true, in my opinion, that some OUFC fans have gone over to LW. I wouldn't doubt it. But what happens if we go up this season? Will they come back? Etc, etc. I do think LW, for all their PR and we're getting Rugby into Oxfordshire, will be very disappointed in attendances. They are working hard to standstill IMHO. But they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. London is too expensive to expand, Oxford isn't that into professional sport.
Oxford is a funny place to do sport business. Our club shows how outside of the hard core, how fickle the locals are. And consistently fickle at that.

The press was all over this love fest. Maybe if they changed there name to Oxford something people would come around over time, but as far as I'm concerned, long as they are LONDON WELSH, they are not welcome. But it's not for you to decide, it's for the people of the local area, just as it's for each club to promote themselves. As far as your concerned LW have no place in oxford, well as far as I'm concerned there is space aplenty for both. One is established and will always probably be viewed as the main club in Oxford, whilst one is the new kid on the block and trying to promote itself. what is wrong with that. If you see it as a fight then there is nothing to stop you fighting back. Personally I see room for both. It may have been a "love fest" from the press and nobody is suggesting that LW weren't proactive in getting the press involved, but the bottom line is that it did create a buzz around the City Centre yesterday and was news worthy. Something OUFC have only done as a reaction to success on the field.

Could they not have played at QPR? Fulham? Brentford? They've travelled a long way haven't they. It's almost like they've decided to find an affluent rugby loving county in order to franchise themselves. I don't but the idea that they were that stuck. They're a serpent. Imagine if they were a football club. Let's say QPR. Would you be accepting?

Like it's been said, if Oufc fans r going to rugby instead it's in the 10s. Ur crowds r far lower than ours and ur playing in the top flight of ur sport. If u really gave up ur Oufc season ticket because u believed Oufc were poor at marketing then that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. Oufc r improving the marketing I've seen loads about this Saturday's game both from the club and fans. And when the style and results improve so will our gates. Enjoy ur last few prem games it going to take some great advertising to attract people next season. This is the only advertising Oufc need as far as london Welsh r concerned youtu.be/sAhEFuq62-I
