Hello folks, good to see you are steadying the ship after such a dodgy start. I'm here to talk about a gem we've just signed, Lawson D'Ath. Apparently he approached your ex CW in the summer as a free agent. How come he slipped under your radar being a Witney boy?

I think he was just to costly for us. He wanted £80 per week plus Mars Bars. Not surprised he's ended up at a much bigger club. The prospect of playing under Mr Wilder must have excited him too. Well done on a great signing.

I remember when wilder joined us and we liked him. Furthermore we were duped by some early form and a goal glut.

Glad to hear it. I'd guess it's because of the age of the player - at the time he was first being looked at by professional clubs our youth setup was very poor so he was snapped up by Reading, a club on the up with at that time plenty of money being put into youth development. Our best player in Lawson's age group, Aaron Woodley, now plies his trade for North Leigh.

Not to worry Wilder will soon coach any talent out of him
Is it true you are having to rebuild your main stand so the home fans can see the side's long ball hoofs?

He also had trials with Eastleigh, think he'll be a decent a player, just needs to play games. Good to see he got an extended contract. That Jorge grant who scored for Forrest against spurs is another Witney lad we missed out on. We need to get in the schools and local clubs and get the youngsters earlier. Fed up of these players ending up at reading and southampton

Couldn't agree more, I run 2 boys sides. And it bugs me that the boys are being approached by bloody reading all the time.

Witney lad, who used to go on about how shit OUFC are and that he'd never play for us. He thought he had made the big time. If he is going to succeed he needs to sort attitude out.
There are so many players from Oxfordshire area who go on to become very good players. Thankfully we are beginnning to sort our recruitment out and have now got some very good local lads in our academies. But who are these kids/parents going to choose? Reading in the top end of the championship with a very good youth set up and training facilities, or oxford in league 2?

Thanks folks, it does look like Reading snapped him up early but he did get shipped out to various lower league clubs as I guess the Championship/Prem was beyond him. He's a decent hard working player without standing out much so you can see how the loans never lead to anything and Reading eventually released him. As for Wilder coaching the talent out of him, don't forget we had Aidy Boothroyd for a couple of years before Wilder so it's now great to see the ball in midfield without craning your neck! We're developing the East Stand to give much needed glass walls to the prawn sandwich brigade. It is meant to be partially ready by the time you lot arrive but at least you are used to a 3 sided ground. From what I've heard Ruffels and O'Dowda are decent comparisons for you, a couple of years younger and doing pretty well.

To be fair if you was in his position with many others in the past I think every young player would choose the premiership/championship club than one who was in between the conference/league 2 at the time, You look to have a Jem in the lad Toney

You look to have a Jem in the lad Toney Yes he's a real live home grown talent. Like you, we've had a few before that have started well but fizzled out, especially strikers, but Toney looks like he will go the distance and probably on to better things. D'Ath had a great game yesterday v Portsmouth so I reckon he will be starting on Tuesday especially as our top striker, Richards, is injured again. Looking forward to the game?

Will be a interesting game I know a few cobblers fans who think that you are gonna batter us, I think there will be more focus on the wilder factor than anything else, things here are slowly coming together here and a couple more positive results until we play you will do us no harm at all, and we are due a result at sixfields, have read a lot about Toney and Richards and obviously will have to keep them quiet, but we have our own u need to keep quiet like odowda Howard and hylton, I'll take a point!
