Playing devils advocate; I don't agree with anything on that forum, but didn't one CM also use that exact phrase on here as well? CM did, I seem to recall, refer to the 'Neanderthals' on here, although he couldn't have possibly included myself in that It wasn't clear- to me at least who it was directed at. Not so much a 'catch phrase' more a term intended to insult the target/s and show just how Inferior they are?! Could be CM in another guise.

Indeed he did. Nevertheless CM is only interested in the welfare of OUFC and is fully behind the new owners!!

And, means nothing. If that's the case, as long as you want the club to do well you can say anything. Can't have one rule for one...........

And, means nothing. If that's the case, as long as you want the club to do well you can say anything. Can't have one rule for one........... I realise you were replying to Lode's suggestion that use of the word "Neanderthal" was unnecessary, but who threw which personal insult to whom kind of misses the point. It's a red herring. The fact remains that there was a group of posters on Yellow Voice who were purely destructive, playing out their personal vendettas on a message board. I still have no idea how many posters were involved; the posting style of some was remarkably similar to others. Somewhere there is another OUFC forum. According to "My Left Foot" there are 35 members, all personally invited to join and none of whom have broken ranks, yet. You don't need a vivid imagination to guess how they spend their days; slagging off OxVox officers, Charlie Methven, the Lenagans, named members of the Yellow Army. Persuading themselves that they are more experienced in business and life in general than any of their targets. Currently supporting the new investor and the new CEO until they show any admiration for OxVox, at which point they will yell conspiracy. And so it goes on. Well, they have their forum and I'm pleased they're sticking to it, bar occasional forays to the virtually defunct We Are Yellows. They believe ESB is a Sennett clone and that this forum is an OxVox hot bed. More daft conspiracy theories, but at least it keeps them from posting on Yellows, if not reading it.

Agree with the above. Let them have their old chums, secret squirrel, the world is against us but we're all superior club, with it's 35 by invitation only membership. Do you think they all live in an underground lair, wearing black roll neck pullovers, and stroking white cats, whilst plotting the overthrow of the evil empire of Sennett?!?!?!?

I think that the poster who posts as The Big Cheese on that forum is probably the overweight poster who posted on this forum as VOTENO.

I'm frankly confused about this vicious antagonism. I get to Oxford very rarely, but I remember getting to Wilders first home game and eating at the Chinese with a load of oxvox people (Trevor, simon I think, Tim R was on another table) and bobsss and someone I surmise is 5cos. It all seemed pretty civil. My impression as a distant exile is that a small group has gone all "Georgetown" and I really don't get it. A decade ago there was plenty of "lively" attitude around fans groups etc, but now it seems that the more effort and leadership people show (which should be a good thing, right?), the more aggro there is.

Em, wasn't Jonestown where they all got murdered? I don't know Mr5COs, and I'm sure he's kind to children and pets; so if you're insinuating that he's chomping his way through the secret 35 in order to maintain his physique I think you're very naughty.

Mr5Co is a friend of mine. He's a terrific bloke and a loyal supporter of many years' standing who's done a massive amount of work for the 12th Man Fund and indeed OxVox over the years.
That's all that needs saying, really.

It's a shame that this thread has become so personal.
I means it's not as if the other forum ever plunged to the depths of insults, bile and hatred directed at individuals, is it?
Oh.

That's all that needs saying, really. Perhaps you would like to explain why your post above "I don't want to revisit well-worn topics and arguments. But unfortunately it's a fact that there are a number of respected supporters who were very poorly treated by the club and some fans' representatives last season" was necessary? Because I suspect it was done with a deliberate intention to start this pathetic little war and who's got a bigger todger than the next man. You state you don't want to re-visit old topics and argument but that's exactly what you have done, we're now talking about your mate and his cohorts when I couldn't give a shit what they think or their silly childish behaviour. They are supposed to be grown adults who run superb businesses.
