Will sign by Friday in a 2 year deal. I think this would show real ambition and great to bring back a local lad who has played much higher up the football league. Fingers. Crossed!

Lets hope so. Would be a very impressive signing, and surely to good for league 2? He was at the game watching last night. From having a very average at best midfield for past 4/5 years, we would have a very impressive midfield this season with the signing of Collins also

I'll only believe it should the club announce his signing. Would be a fabulous capture though.

You might want to add on the additional T that you've shaved off the end of his name.

Would be an exceptional signing- and would finally convince me to renew my two season tickets. Feeling optimistic again, it all feels fresh after being completely stale.

Hopefully (if he does sign) that him & Collins have a good partnership & create enough chances for our wingers/strikers that was our biggest problem last season
Only issue would be is our midfield doesn't have a lot of goals in them at the minute

Scunthorpe would seem more likely-.they have serious money behind them. I just can't see a player of that calibre dropping to league 2.

Maybe he just wants to come home after living all round the country for the past decade? It's all about paying the bills. Oxford is a staggeringly expensive place to live, we'd need to be offering very, very good money. In his position, I'd choose Scunthorpe every time. And that's as an oxford fanatic. He was excellent at Brizzle last season. Surely this couldn't happen?

I'm pretty sure if we can afford to live in oxford a professional footballer earning 2k or more a week would not have a problem

Is his surname pronounced like "Gillette" or "Gilet"?

Scunthorpe is a fantastic place to live? Have you ever been there?
I think this story is a work of fiction to be honest.
The original poster has linked us to ex-Swindon players Dany N'Guessan, Ryan Harley, Nicky Ajose and tonight Simon Gillett.
If one of those comes true I would be happy.

It's all about what that 2k a week gets you though. When you're accustomed to a certain standard of living, moving to oxford to play league 2 football and pay a fortune in rent/mortgage, well, I'm not sure.
It's a challenge for all South East clubs.

It's worth paying a premium to wake up every morning in beautiful, cultured and historic Oxfordshire! Not like the sink hole that is Scunthorpe.
