Jeez, poor Gary Waddock - his time here must go down in history as one of the worst ever for a manager.

Absolute f*cking joke, I know Waddock had a shocking time since coming in, but to replace him with f*cking Appleton, I am fuming.
Glad I didn't cave in last week to get a S/T

Lenagan still has over 30% of shares, as does Eales, but neither has more than 50%.
Waddock has been replaced by Appleton.
Ashton to start as Chief Exec on Monday.

sounds good to me. New investment, Eales has excellent reputation, and IL still involved.
Be interesting to see if Appleton already had some new players lined up - I expect he has.

What a joke....Gambled with our promotion by taking 9 weeks to appoint a manager from 70 odd applicants then blocks signings now shows him the door
I've had enough

Michael Appleton has achieved absolutely nothing of note in his managerial career other than gain a reputation for being something of a yes man. It's of course absolutely possible that he's a quality manager who's just been in some bad situations but this is by far the weirdest part of today's announcement. Let's hope this has been some time coming, that he has a bunch of signings lined up and he can really hit the ground running and prove himself.
The extra finance, and the extra emphasis on sorting out the stadium would seem to be very positive news for the club.

24% win ratio, what would possibly make you feel this man is the right person to manage your side? He's shown 0 loyalty, and about as much ability to win games.

So Lenegan's so desperate to get shot that he's relinquished day to day control to a bloke with a worse record than Kelvin, and sacked the guy he spent half last season finding in favour of Appleton; a halfwit with no track record in management.
You couldn't fucking make it up.
Oh yeah, I saw this morning on the Fail site that the Cherwell council leader or some planning guy had said "over my dead body" about a football stadium at Water Eaton.

does every club have the same drama or is it just us? - no idea what to make of it all. Ultimately, however if there is more money invested and that results in us going up the leagues then I'll be happy. wonder who appleton's first signing will be?

Still no stadium plan then I imagine. Can see this being no different to how it already is. The sacking of Waddock is a disgrace considering Lenagan is still owner, what a waste of money.

The most important thing is that we want to own our stadium:
Of even more importance however was the growing certainty that – with the radical changes likely in the Planning Landscape for Oxford in the next 12 months and the opportunity which that could present to Oxford United finally to own its own Stadium – it was vital at this crucial time to plan ambitiously to take advantage of these opportunities or to lose them.
That meant a further significant investment in Financial and Management terms; Financially to fund increased running cost and capital investment in a stadium project and, in Management terms, to both run the Club on a day-to-day basis whilst also devoting dedicated and experienced resource exclusively to the Stadium Project.
It was decided that this was the time to bring additional financial and management resources into the Club alongside the Lenagan family in order to ensure this one-time opportunity would not be missed.
A new Board of Directors is now in place with Darryl taking up the position of Chairman, Mark Ashton appointed as Chief Executive taking over responsibility for day-to-day management of the Board’s existing strategy and Ian Lenagan taking Board responsibility for the Stadium Development project.
I believe strongly that this new shareholding structure with two major investors now involved is an an even stronger position for Oxford United than before and bodes well for the Club’s future ambitions. I look forward to the start of the new season and the opportunity personally on behalf of the new Board to focus on the Stadium Development opportunity.
I'll see what happens in the next weeks and months before dismissing what they are trying to achieve.
IL has already improved hugely the development/youth set up, the Sports Science will hopefully reap benefits as well.
If the new appointments bring the ownership of the Stadium to Oxford United then surely that is a good thing, actually no - a brilliant thing!
Time will tell.
