Watch out for Belgium, real dark horses. They're better than they have been for years. I forecast that they will get further than Holland and England. Pity I'm not a betting man. Can Belgium be classed as dark horses? I think most people expect them to go pretty well. Can't see Brazil not getting to the the semi's and from there I think momentum/home support will carry them through.

I don't think that Belgium are going to do very well. I think they'll get through their weak group but then they will probably have to play Germany or Portugal. Looks like Holland will have to face Brazil in the last 16 too. The flat countries don't look like making the QF's.

Argentina have the best draw - both in terms of who they play (in the groups stages and first knockout round) and, crucially, where they play - the best forward line and they'll be right at home in the conditions.
If they can turn up a couple of other half-decent defenders alongside Zabaleta, they should be favourites ahead of Brazil, Germany & Spain (in that order).
Not exactly sticking my neck out - but then again, there hasn't been a surprise winner of the World Cup since 1950!

Likely to be a South American side. So Argentina are favourites for me (Brazil and Uruguay if Suarez is fit possibles).
Others? Germany and Spain. Don't discount Spain as their possession football with Xavi and Iniesta etc could pay dividends in the heat.
I agree with baldy that the expectations will be too high and that they will go out in the quarters or semis.

Brazil were certainly tournament favourites, but France (hosts, golden generation, unlucky to lose in the semis at the previous Euros) were one of the most favoured sides after them. I reckon that if you had had the chance to pick the four most likely teams on the eve of every World Cup (as I did for this year above), then you would never yet have failed to pick the winner in tournament history (maybe, just maybe, in 2006) Would be great if that changed this year!

Belgium are an interesting E/W bet. Also, Wilfried Bony E/W for top scorer at 100-1, and Lukaku at 33-1. They only need to finish in the top 4 goal scorers - then kerching! Although I don't think Belgium will do that well, I think they could bag a few goals in the group stages. Also I think France could do the same so I think Benzema @ 33's is another good shout with Lukaku. Higuain @ 25's in a team that could win the tournament is my best bet. Lukaku and Higuain are now @ 20's with PP!

I reckon it will be a rerun of the 1986 World Cup final with Argentina beating Germany
Argentina have the best player on the planet, and probably one of the best ever in Lionel Messi, and I think this will be the tournament where he make his mark. But that's not all - They have Aguero, and Higuain to come off the bench in the unlikely event either of them fail to deliver.
Germany aren't the immediate favourites, but they always have a habit of turning up when they need to, and they still have some pretty impressive players, like Ozil, Draxler, Gotza, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Mertesacker and Manuel Neuer is one of the best keepers in the world.
I'm not convinced by Brazil despite home advantage. Every time I see Neymar play I always wonder what all the fuss is about. He's okay, but he's no Messi or Ronaldo. In fact he's not even close.
