Have the club said anything at all about a fan's forum in the summer? I think it would help the current strained relations between IL and fans.

Agreed. Desperately needed before the summer kicks in. If the fans groups have any real standing with IL then this will happen in the next month or less. Perhaps we can have a public statement from Oxvox requesting a fans forum which then requires a public response. If we don't get an official request then it says a lot about the position of Oxvox and it's relationship with the club.

But the last one was January last year ( I think) which considering the length of time its been I don't feel very optimistic.

I think Ian Lenagan would be absolutely bonkers to not do this, considering the club depend quite heavily on season ticket sales, I imagine a lot won't purchase one until the chairman answers a few questions and outlines specific plans and objectives for next season and beyond.

well said fraser101 ..... a fans forum should be held asap ....IMO theres many many bridges requiring building between the board, the admininstration and the too long taken for granted supporters

You'd think Oxvox would be leading the calls for this, wouldn't you. If Mr Lenagan expects fans to buy / renew season tickets then the least he can do is hold a fans forum outlining the clubs plans for the new season...

Not agree then, Maurice? Have you always been 100% behind Oxvox and their viewpoints?
You've done very well with the priory business and the survey. This should be the next item for Oxvox to get stuck into.

I think a Fans Forum should be considered. We have a detached fan-base and Lenagan needs to communicate with all of us and as mentioned in Mark Edwards article, get everyone back onside and united. #unitedwestand

We have a committee meeting with Ian Lenagan scheduled for the summer where all OxVox members can send us questions to be asked. We hold these roughly once a quarter. I will ask the club if a fans forum is scheduled we may not get an answer as such so i'm sure this will be one of the questions put to Mr Lenagan when we meet him.

Well that answer will be more than likely no. So will you be saying to Mr L that this needs to be held as a matter of urgency following our annual end of season cock up? On a personal level, do you think a FF needs to take place Mark?

Normally all members questions are asked unless they fall foul of the abusive question filter which is in place.

Mark, can you clarfy how long and what time period is the summer when the next Oxvox meeting scheduled with IL is going to take place? Given the debacle of how the season full of promise turned into a(nother) damp squib, a Fans Forum SHOULD already have been set up by now IMO

It's likely to be end of June/start of July that OxVox meet with IL as that's when it's due. Ian has confirmed he's keen to meet and that seemed a logical time to do it.
Do I think a fans forum is necessary – Yes fans are due one and I’m sure it will happen sooner rather than later and I will happily enquire when. In the meantime we will have our meeting with Mr Lenagan where we will ask whatever is sent in provided it’s not abusive. This is a prime reason to join OxVox so we can ask questions for you as that’s what we are here to do...represent your views. Sarge knows this as i’ve asked questions for him on multiple occasions at these meetings.

It is clear that this is the wish of most fans and in a pure business sense IL must realise it is needed and can only benefit ST sales and cash flow. Issue the press release! End of June/ July just does not cut it.

This is something that needs to be done sooner rather than let's put it to the chairman during our next meeting where we agree with everything he has to say! The club should recognise that there are fans like me that are seriously considering not renewing next season down to the lack of communication and direction the club show to the fans who are the lifeblood of this club not the players not IL or GW! Stop spinning the same old line about joining Oxvox and put your questions thru us if you really have the chairmans ear you should be telling him that he needs to reconnect with the fans of Oxford United Football Club not keep taking them for granted!!!

Forum definitely needed asap.
I am sure there are lots of committed supporters that have lot of questions that they would like to put DIRECT to Mr. Lenagan not through an OxVox proxy.
There is significant bemusement and in fact downright anger out there as to how the season imploded so catastrophically.
Smell the coffee Mr L and meet your punters - there are thousands who are disenchanted - it's the least you could do.

I sense fans want the opportunity to vent fustration at the ownership rather than amicably debate the issues surrounding the club. I would rather IL is put in stocks at the next open day where fans have the opportunity to throw wet sponges at his head for 50p a pop. All proceeds into the 12th man transfer fund.

We need an accurate notation of the meeting made available for the fans to see. It should give IL an insight into how the fans are feeling, But oxvox should ask for a fans forum sooner so that last seasons debacle can be discussed.

I've spoken to Ian Lenagan this morning. The OxVox meeting will now likely be this month as he plans to hold a fans forum between mid June to early July. He was more than happy for this to be made public.
