Wroe and Newey both blaming the pitch on Radio Oxford.
Doesn't bode well with Welsh staying here for 3 years. Bit more route one required?

I think we play a lot of route 1 already, one of the major culprits being Newey, whenever he gets the ball he looks to launch a mindless ball to nowhere. Yeah the pitch is not great, but resorting to crap football is not the answer.

We didn't win at home when we had a pitch that was unaffected by rugby. It's another excuse, among a stream of excuses, from players whom possess neither the talent nor mental strength to finish the job. Bottlers.

The day before a home game the players should train on the pitch just so they know how to play on it. It's the same for both sides on match day, so it's up to the players to take their chances and play better than the other team, something that they find hard to do.

The problem with the pitch was not an uneven bounce. It was too wet, no doubt due to the pre-match watering. No end of players slipped, mainly ours. Smacks of another own goal by OUFC.

Well the pitch WAS bobbly. But we played quite well on it at the start of the game. Fleetwood played some OK stuff the other week. It's a poor excuse, unless it got magically worse at 3.20 today and then again at half time...

The pitch needs to be rolled.
And the state of the pitch can make difference for each team. For example, if one team likes to play the ball on the ground whilst the other is intent on hoofing it in the air, then obviously the playing surface will make a difference for the team want to play along the ground.
I feel we are more inclined to play the ball on the deck now, so the pitch doesn't suit of style of play now.

Our pitch doesn't seem to have been a problem for:
York Chesterfield Scunthorpe Burton Southend Bristol Rovers Plymouth Charlton
Our lot are just absolute bottle jobs!

… and Fleetwood!
I agree and nine defeats at home is far too many.
However the pitch is shocking.

York certainly didn't deal with the pitch. They were p*ss poor with the ball and created far less than us. In fact they created nothing and, in my opinion, were one if the worst attacking teams ie seen at the Kass. Just because they scraped a victory due to a lucky penalty and solid defensive show doesn't mean they coped with the pitch.

Nothing to do with the pitch, the players were just not good enough on the day- as been the case more than a few times. If the players (Ours) think that in the fourth tier of English Football the pitches should be like bowling greens and expect the opposition to let them play 'tippy tappy' Football, no wonder we are struggling to make an impact in what has been a poor/weak division.

The players know what to expect, they've been playing on it all season for Christ sake.

Also we were getting scrapy wins all season before Wilder left yet that wasn't good enough for many (albeit not many at home)

With the amount of money that Kasssham put's into the maintenance of the ground, the groundsman only get's to use a rolling pin borrowed from his own kitchen to roll the pitch

A lot of York fans have commented on how any pass along the floor was bobbling around all over the place and players were often taking extra touches. A couple of them I've spoken to said it played into their hands a bit as their team likes to press the player on the ball quickly, when he is having to take extra touches - the pressing puts under even more pressure.
I think we suffer from having to play on it 23 times plus a season. A lot of the players seem to be trying to second guess what the bounce of the ball is going to do based on what it has done in previous weeks. Whereas the opposition can just come, give it their all for 90 minutes and as we are incapable of passing on our own pitch - know they're likely to get a least a point.
It's not an excuse for having lost 8 games at home (again) but it does have an affect on the way we play and the tempo.

The pitch definitely had a negative effect on our play yesterday. Waddock likes to play at a much faster pace that Wilder, and with the ball bobbling and bouncing like it was its difficult to sustain the pace. Players need a few extra touches just to get the ball under control. Under Wilder I don't believe the pitch had that much of an impact on our play as he wanted us to play at a much slower, controlled pace.
That said, the players did not do enough. They were not energetic enough, did not make good enough runs, and just didn't show enough effort in general. I also don't believe the players we have are suited to a fast paced style of play, particularly Hunt and Newey. They slow it down every single time the ball gets played out to them. They are solid enough defensively but add little to nothing going forward. I think they - more than anyone else - restrict us in an attacking sense.
Kitson was also disappointing yesterday, there's a difference between playing deeper/in the whole and playing as a deep lying midfielder. Get further up the pitch! He's much more influential when he plays in the final third.
Searching for positives... Wright had a good game, and I thought O'Dowda looks very promising. He's extremely comfortable on the ball and puts in a decent cross. Needs to bulk up a bit though.
Overall a disappointing performance.

Other positives were Ruffels and Raynes up front winning everything in the air pity about the miss him and Beano or Connolly up front would be quite a handful.

Not sure what game/games you watch, but Raynes rarely wins a ball in the air when he goes upfront. e.g. for throws ins, corners etc. Personally, just don't like him as a player.sorry

Only player that ever wins a header in the oppo half. Think you may be letting your second point affect your first. Raynes has had a very good season.
