We'll just have to differ then, LJS. Unfortunately one does hear different slants on the issue from different people. Personally, I felt strongly enough about what had happened to cancel my subscription to OxVox, so best leave it there. So who did take the decision to fold the fans initiative of the 12th man? The club, OxVox, or the 12th man committee themselves? I would think the 12th man committee would be able to give the best, and the true, answer.

There's not much of a mystery about that, surely. I assume that after they'd been prevented by the club from selling their merchandise (in aid of the club!) on club premises, they didn't see much point in continuing.
And who can blame them?

Don't you think it's a tad LATE to be saying this NOW? Lewis has already blown our promotion chances. Right, this calls for immediate discussion... Reminds me of this -> www.youtube.com/watch?v=55fqjw2J1vI

I assume that after they'd been prevented by the club from selling their merchandise (in aid of the club!) on club premises, they didn't see much point in continuing. And who can blame them? Plenty of fund raising has taken place off of the club's premises, I would think most of it. But, in any case, even if they were stopped from selling merchandise in the bar (after 12th Man walked away from the Yellow Army group)with Yellow Army taking over that specific seling location, then there was still nothing stopping them from fund raising as they had previous to the bar being open. Wasn't it a fans initiative that was just canned by a few 12th man committe members who seem to have fallen out with people at the club? As said, those on the now defunct 12th Man committee could easily clear this up (or they already may have and I just haven't seen it).

My guess is that the club hasn't been particularly interested in 12th Man fund raising for players for some time. The amounts raised don't go very far in League 2, and the club wants to use its younger players instead of loanees. Note we've only used 24 players all season, second lowest in L2.
Wouldn't we have got a loan player in by now if we had some intention of using the £15K sat on account?
I also wonder if 12th Man was perhaps monopolising fund raising? Whilst anyone could set up their own objective, having 8 or 9 ideas all for 12th Man leaves less for other causes.
PS. Any "United Lottery" draws been held recently?

Please see below a statement from the OxVox committee: A number of OxVox members have been in contact asking the Trust to seek further information from the board of Oxford United as to when a permanent manager will be appointed. Over recent weeks we have shared those members’ views with the board so they know we are aware of these. At this point we have no further information other than what has been put out in the media in terms of timescales for a permanent appointment. The OxVox committee share the same concerns as the members who have contacted us, as we too would like to see a permanent appointment in place ASAP. The position has been vacant for seven weeks and we'd hope that the board would be in a position to appoint a manager before this weekend's fixtures. If this is not possible we would urge the board to comment further on the timescales as to when a manager will be put in place.Oxford United has a great opportunity of getting promoted this season and we strongly feel that appointing the right candidate will aid the club's chances of achieving this. However, if circumstances mean the Club won't be able to bring that candidate in in the very near future, supporters need clarity about the rest of the season so that they can concentrate on the promotion push that is still very much in our grasp. We would welcome any news on how the club intends to address this situation and have the best chance of meeting the season's aim of promotion. Lenagan doesn't seem to be listening to you, Mark.
I shall of course be more than happy to withdraw this ridiculously negative observation should something unexpectedly materialise today or tomorrow.
(I just hope that Tisdale doesn't feature in any announcement, by the way.)

Though I wish the released statement had been used whilst Mark was on the radio recently I also don't see the sense in the continuing sniping lodeyellow. The statement reflects the general opinion of Oxford fans and Oxvox supporters which is the key point. Oxvox can ask the question but IL rightly or wrongly doesn't have to answer or do as they request.
You keep alluding to the injustices heaped upon the Trevor and friends but from my point of view they decided to leave the joint initiative but expected to be allowed to continue selling items in the bar which seems naive to me. You seem happy to boast about leaving Oxvox like others but offer nothing to replace or improve the situation. You make lots of good points but I wish you would change the record or at least constructive comments regarding Oxvox.

Why the continuing digs Lodie? You are sounding a bit like 5cos and bobss on the sadly missed Yellow Voices forum or am I mistaken. . . .

Are OxVox going to release another statement? It's 9am and we have heard nothing. I bet Ian Lenagan has forgotten as he is probably watching old rugby videos.

I'm pleased to do so, of course. Maybe best to refrain from such comments from now on!
(Having thought about it, and in a spirit of positivity,I'm reasonably pleased with the choice of manager, too.)
