Here we go again!! Didn't see this one coming... When will he leave? This is a bad time of year (squad building time) for the Chairman to step down. CW will loose his biggest ally and there will no doubt be a period of instability off the field which always filters onto the pitch somehow. I'm sure IL will find an adequate replacement (although he did appoint Merry before!) if somebody hasn't already been lined up. Thanks for all of your efforts KT, a fantastic turnaround job from when you joined: www.oufc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10342~1410807,00.html

Hugely disappointing. You really cannot underestimate what a decent job he has done here.
Sensible, logical business based decisions, re-establishing the club as part of the community, conducting the most thorough search for a manager for ages and watching it pay dividends.
Wouldn't surprise me entirely if dealing with the Money grabbing toad that is Kassam eventually tipped him over the edge, its fair to say he has appeared less than enthused regarding the rugby, and the maintenance back payment that took a huge chunk from the balance sheet must of been difficult to take.
His work will not have gone unnoticed.

I know last season he was sounded out by Crystal Palace but he was content in Oxfordshire with his family settled and children schooled locally.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see one of Lenegans sons take the reigns. It's disappointing to lose KT but this is perhaps a further sign that the Lenegan family want more running of the club and that cannot be a bad thing.

I got the feeling at the AGM that there were so many things he wanted to say about the stadium situation, Kassam etc but couldn't because of all the politics involved.
Will be interesting to hear what he has to say once he's no longer Chairman.
Thanks Kelvin. You've had a massive positive influence on the club. Let's hope all that hard work isn't undone.

Well Ian Lenagan is the new chairman according to the oxford mail. In his most recent radio interview, IL stated that he was happy to remain behind the scenes. Although he and his son(s ?) have always been involved in the running of the club, they seemed to shun the limelight. Now that he is chairman, the spotlight of attention will now be firmly on him. I wonder if anything has significantly changed or is it just business running it's normal course? I just can't help but think Wilder's days are numbered. Just a hunch.

It's been rumoured that KT had become frustrated by the owners not making enough budget available for the midfielders we'd targeted. He also felt that the club had missed its opportunity to purchase the stadium now Kassam has two tennents and without the statium he was fighting a loosing battle to continue balancing the books.

One other thought it's strange that it's in the OM, but not on the official United website. You would have thought it would have been the other way round.

Funny how all those in the know, you know the ones who try and make out they're close confidants to those in charge of the club, had absolutely no idea about this.

Good luck to KT but I just do not see how this can be a bad thing for the club with IL at the helm. With respect to KT he can't get near this bloke in terms of running businesses - and succeeding.
To talk of panic with Lenegan running the ship is crazy. He's not a novice and has vast experience with Wigan RL. Another huge plus is that he's not all pally with Wilder and I don't think he would hesitate in firing him if we have any of last seasons fiascos repeated. You could say he could have fired him this summer but there is little doubt KT would have defended Wilder to the hilt and probably provided enough boardroom support but that wont happen with the Lenegan family running it.
A really positive appointment - in my opinion.

I also see this in a positive light, as there was no light at the end of the tunnel this season for me, actions not words might speak louder now.
